Oh man, full blast reverse mathamatics away!

It's 19990 (vehicle) + 695 (freight) + 565 (alloys) = $21250

Residual is at 55% for 25,000km = 11687.5
Yup, residual is at (MSRP of vehicle + freight + packages) times 55%.

Since s/he is in BC, 7% GST, 7%PST.
PDI + admin + registration + air tax + gas tax + tire tax + what ever you want fees, was not clearly mentioned, but the total is $148.4 / 0.07 = $2120.

Total due on delivery = 2120 +148.4 (PST) +148.4 (GST) + 300 (security deposit) + 282.84 (1st payment) + 44 (PPSA/loan fee?) = $3043.64!!!

Did I mention I had a science/math/computer degree?  :rofl2:

Is this a good deal?
Sure it is.

Is it unbeatable?
Of course not.
Mr/Ms customer, my suggestion is writing up an offer at $XXX less to my manager.  ;D

LoLz, stealing customers from BC, now that's a good salesperson, haha!

Dropped by VW dealer this afternoon, in order to avoid crazy Vancouver Friday rush hour traffic "again"!

They have 3 Rabbits. 1 black, 1 silver and 1 green. All of them have black interior with Tiptronic and 15" alloy wheels. All of them have sold according to my friend who works there. Seems like its another homerun other than GTI for VW.

Picked up a full-line brochure. VWoA still printed "Golf" instead of "Rabbit"!! :stick:

15 inch or 16 inch?

Those brochures were printed around the Toronto auto show period.
They made a last minute name change at the ... ah Chicago auto show?

I imagine that they will get the same numbers than the Golf ... even if there's no 1.8T 2.0T or TDI.  There's also the City Golf who will steal sales from the "base" Rabbit.  It's well equipped and reasonably priced (after the hype) but I would wait a few months before declaring it equal or better than the Golf.  :P

I sat there last night getting seriously tempted to sell the Volvo S60 and lease the fully loaded Mk 5 Golf instead. It would take a chunk out of my monthly payments.. probably almost half them.

Ultimatelly though, I'd probably lose so much on the depreciation that I'd be fool.

*sigh*

Why couldn't VW have launched this at the same time in North America as in Europe? I'd have bought it in a flash if only it had been available last January :(

Aside from the throwback name a very very competitive entry.

Made in Germany good...hopefully the quality will be better than
the Mexican production.

maybe not so, the 2000-2001 golfs were made in germny , and according to jd power, their reliabilty was considered problematic. much more so than mexiacn built ones....

Took my uncle who is shopping for a new car to check out Rabbit. Other than Rabbit; Civic, Camry, CSX and Accord are on his shopping list. After checked out the car, he seems to think there is almost no point to get a Jetta. Its just he has to wait till dealer has demo available for him to experience the VW driving spirits. ;)

The configurator is available on VW.ca also.  ;D  Is it just me or their candy white looks more like Super Light Grey? (notice the delayed availability sign)  No Ground Effects Kit for Canada ... boooo!  It's a bit expensive at 1700$ USD but it still looks pretty dam good.   :o

The radio buttons are now silver colour instead of black, and a 35mm AUX jack is in the glove box where the light was original located.

I hope this wasn't another VW fluke and is going to be standard.

Speaking of radio button, even A3 has silver instead of black for 06 production vehicles. :)
