Nai, Nai, Nai.
Apple green was ok, it's the green on the Jetta that looks like a fly's (insect's) eye.

Cosmic Green?

Judging from my GTI colour experience, I would go with white.

For anyone interested, I was hours away from buying one (til my parents veto'ed that... something about college AND a lease), and here's what I got:

Price: $21,250 (only option was 16" alloys)

Administration: $20
Deposit Down: $2000
Security Deposit: $300
Monthly Payment: $282.84
PST on Cash Due, Initial Fees: $148.40
GST on Cash Due, Initial Fees: $148.40
Capital Cost Reduction: $2000
TOTAL CASH DUE AT DELIVERY: $3043.64

48 Month term
48 Payments of $282.84
Purchase Option: $11,687.50

So... including all the taxes (except on buyout) if you were to buy the car at the end of the 48 month term, you'd have paid a total of $28,307.46, so if you get rid of the taxes on everything the dealership makes $3,581.11 on the sale in interest.

SteveDVS that is better than the deal I got!

Only a $20 admin fee?  My dealer wanted $400.

No PDI & Freight?  That was $1310 at my dealer.  No Air or Gas tax?

Are you 100% sure that was all the fees?  My total if bought out was $32,000 with only the Convenience package.

That right there suggests the Freight or PDI was included. The 3dr starts at $19,990 and the 5dr $20,990. Alloys $595 or so. Taking the base 3dr and adding alloys would bring you to $20,585, meaning $665 of something was rolled in someplace.

What does that even mean?  The non-white grade 6 kids that my wife teaches apparently say that.  I understand it's a positive expression of some sort?  Like "Oh snap! That's phat!" or some such?  As opposed to "Ohhh... that's so dry" which is apparently something you don't want to be.  I'm just not up on all the young'n lingo these days.   ???

___

SAM, the two-tone beige interior does look really good.  Not too sure about the sage green exterior though.

For your reference "that's sick!" means that it's cool or awesome  ;) ;D

"Oh Snap" was in one of the GTI ads too I believe.

Still looks like a deal to me, but the Freight/PDI/taxes (you have to pay the freight and taxes no matter how you look at it, and on a new car I don't think it's too wise to sell under invoice) could be rolled in anywhere.

:nono:  "the dealership makes $3,581.11 on the sale in interest"

Incorrect, the dealership doesn't make a cent on interest.
It's VW credit that charges the interest not the dealer.

To make things easier, s/he paid $21250 + $2000 for the vehicle + alloys + freight + PDI + air tax + gas tax +admin + registration.

$2000 downpayment, upfront fees, whatever you wanna call it, at the end it still is money.

^^ Just realized that today, my bad.

And yeah, freight was like $665.

All in all, $21,250 with just the alloy wheels.

Being a student I could've afforded the leasing if it were $218/mo, but it being $282.84 plus pretty high insurance, I'm now looking at financing a used in the $10,000-$14,000 range.  Even that's going to take a whole lot of work while at school to pay for, but I'd prefer it to driving a beater.

I still think the Rabbit is a very nice car, though.  Maybe after financing whatever car I end up with I can pick up a 2012 Rabbit!  Mind you, by then I'd be more in the price range for the GTI.

Nai, Nai, Nai.
It's 19990+ 695 + 565 = 21250

No wonder people hate buying cars so much.  We can't even agree what the price is and we are all experts.  :rofl2:

Because buying car is not like buying a micowave, with all those miscellaneous charges. ;D
