Hmm I'm not sure if those looking at the Rabbit will cross-shop it with the CSX... Jetta, yes... but Rabbit? Not sure... Then again, I suppose a good portion of Rabbit buyers would have compared it closely with the Jetta (and decided to go with the Rabbit for the better value), so considering the CSX may not be that unlikely.

I just talked to my friend who is selling Acura. They already worried about Rabbit's sales after I told him about the lease rates, in relative to what CSX offers.

How many CSXs have you seen on the road?
I have seen no more than 5 in total.
Compared to the EL, the CSX has a lot of work to do!

2010 MB C300 4Matic (Iridium Silver)

Well that's because the Civic is already such a great vehicle (and very well equipped) that not many people think it's worth the jump to a CSX, especially when the difference in price from Civic->CSX has increased from what it used to be for Civic->EL...

So in that sense, yeah, Rabbit and Civic should headbutt a lot more than Rabbit and CSX.

And when the Corolla Hatch will arrive here, that will be even more direct competition for the Rabbit!

I don't see those wheels on too many jettas though.

They're on the vast majority of Jetta 2.0Ts (on all except the base with no sunroof, which dealers rarely order on 2.0T's) Most Jettas on the road are either 2.5 or TDI though.

I wish they would bring Rabbits with the beige interior and leather option.

Corolla Hatch would outsell the Rabbit/Golf by a fair margin, just like I'm assuming the Matrix outsold the current Golf by a fair margin... Corolla Hatch will probably be even more popular than the Matrix is...

Its pretty nice.

Anyone remember when Toyota tried to have fun trendy and hip car? Of course they didn't sell it here so none of U's would.

what were they thinking?

15K in US vs 20K in Canada at ~0.9USD/CAD.
The difference in pricing is insulting. I'll try get one from US.

The US price is ridiculously low. It's basically where Civic starts.

But all cars in Canada are now more expensive than the US with today's currency exchange. Nothing new and it's been debated a lot. You will save a lot of money buying in the US, just like they did buying from Canada a few short years ago. Within our own market, the price is competitive.

If there will be a Corolla hatchback, Matrix will become Corolla wagon similar to JDM Fieldier.

Anyone with the VW logos know if the $231 a month $2k down includes Freight?  Is there no PDI on VW's?

Obviously that does not include taxes and registration.

Freight might be included.
PDI, air tax, gas tax, administration, registration, tire tax, this and that, GST, PST all extra.

It's a country based ad, so tax would vary according to province and wouldn't be included.

Read the fine print when the official promotion comes out.

Now all we need are the full details on that lease.

Don't forget to post your impressions on the test drive.

Yes that is the official rate I priced one out at a dealer yesterday.  There a more than a few extra fees not listed in the Ad.

Freight + PDI
Security Deposit
First Month Payment
Gas Tax
Air Tax
License Registration
Dealer Admin Fee.
Taxes on the above.

It is more like $5000 down $231 a month for the base 5 door.
