Single CD with 10 speakers is standard.
They say it is MP3 compatiable, but I haven't tried it on the Jetta yet.

No iPod/Aux jack, sorry.

Damn that makes the 3 door so much more appealing.

I don't need a 6 disc changer but would love to have heated seats..... on the 3 door that would be a total savings of $1400!

Think an AUX jack can be added?  I use the AUX for my GPS system, although I don't use it often I love having it direct over the speakers so I can actually hear it.  Even my impreza has AUX jack and I got one for my S2000 too :)

Main differences between 5 and 3 door.

1. Body colored bumpers with body colored moldings instead of black
2. Body colored body side moldings instead of black
3. Velour interior trim instead cloth interior trim
4. 8-way manually adjustable height and reach front seats, power recline (driver only) with adjustable (height & angle) lockable head restraints instead of 6-way manual
5. Fold-flat front passenger seat??? (I thought they deleted this from the 06 Jetta)
6. 60/40 split folding rear seat with center armrest and pass-through (60/40 split fold but no center armrest and pass through for 2 door)
7. 2 front, 2 rear cupholders instead of 2 front, 1 rear
8. Rear center armrest storage

My calculations puts a 5 door with conv package with $2500 at signing as $303 a month taxes included.

JSCC, I'd appreciate it if you can check with parts on the adapter, assuming the radio is identical to the Jetta.

You get a lot more than just 2 doors for that $1000 then!

It must be because they named it Rabbit, can't be anything to do with the fact that it is priced outstanding!

I'm in no big hurry but it really is interesting me.

The alloys are a good price as well at $600 but it would be best to get the steelies and then when all the ricers upgrade their alloys and sell them off you buy them used ;)

Damn right, you do.
And insurance should be a lot lower too.

People pre-order cars all the time ... same thing happened with the Matrix in the first year.  They were almost all sold before they even hit the lot.

The 3-door sounded pretty cool but after reading this ...

1. Body colored bumpers with body colored moldings instead of black
2. Body colored body side moldings instead of black
3. Velour interior trim instead cloth interior trim
4. 8-way manually adjustable height and reach front seats, power recline with adjustable lockable head restraints instead of 6-way manual

The 5-door looks better and has a lot of goodies for only 1000$.  Still no armrest for the front.  :( :( :(

$600 for 16 inch alloys are a very good deal.  I was looking at the honda fit and the price for the 16 was much more and they didn't even include rubber.  I realy think VW is going to kick butt with this car as long as the electrical problems are fixed.  Hell, i think I'd put up with some problems just because the price is just right.

No Xenons for the Rabbit.

Electric problems? This vehicle has been in Euro for 3 years, all bugs should be solved by now.
The 06 Jetta hasn't had any "electrical problems" over the year.
