That would seem to be the next "logical" step, I guess. First an SUV, then a 4-door, then ...  ::) :P

Remember...it wouldn't be a truck.

Back to the Panamera.....looks like Porsche is going to expand the lineup and go more 'mainstream' as opposed to the previous strategy of just looking after a small niche market.  Porsche is still very much a niche carmaker...but this 4dr looks like it needs to create more market for itself trying to wean itself off the 911 sales.

I'd buy one if I had the money.....

I have a bike trailer....it almost cost me more than the MDX.

A 55K car is so much easier to obtain vs. a $100k car.  I have too many wants, and not enough cash to satisfy them ALL.

that Ferrari looks like one from the collection of the sultan of brunai - I remember an article a few years ago in Road & Track about his collection of cars (and this weekend in the financial post they had a story on the sultan of brunei suing his brother - between the two of them it was reported that they bought half of the ferrari's and rolls royce produced in a single year - and they would get one off's made just for them - the brother is alleged to have stolen something like $16billion over the last few years - so far the lawyers bill on the trial is over $400million and expected to hit $1billion)

as for the Panamera - sign me up, please, when it's time to get rid of the Cayenne I'll be pushing for this, now if I could just convince my Mom that she doesn't need the SUV

Look who's rushing in.

http://www.autoblog.com/2006/05/23/aston-martin-rapide-may-beat-panamera-to-production/

Aston Martin  I got a printed poster of Aston Martin DB9 in mail, its part of an ad campaign by an Accounting software company. The license plate in the picture shows my name on it.

There's also the Aston Martin Rapide  :lick: Although I don't know if that one is official yet.

You could probably throw the Mercedes-Benz CLS AMG in there too.

There's a ultra-luxo saloon war heating up in Europe.  Cars like the Maseratti Quattroportte GT and the Maybach 57S (the driver's Maybach  ::)) have proven that super-duper luxo sporty sedans are viable vehicles.

Bentley and Rolls-Royce are working on "sportier" saloon models.  Audi is already working on it's A8 (S8?) and they're aiming at the Panamera.  There are rumours of a M7 for BMW ... after they saw the success of the aftermarket M8.  And now ASton Martin is joining the madness!  ;D

Ah yes!!

All of the vehicles listed above are fabulous cars - if only money were not an object, but one does have to feed one's family and put a roof over one's head don't-cha-know.

There must be people with money out there if the manufacturers are willing to develop such luxurious and powerful vehicles.  They're not doing it for bragging rights that's for sure.  :P
