Go for it!  And get the Sport trim so you don't get saddled with the crap headlights I've got!  Love both blue hues on Subarus.

Nice color...I like it.

Might as well wait for the new Ducati 821 Monster......;D

You try the 690 Duke yet?

Still haven't tried the Duke yet -- I'm told (again), I'll get one in the spring to rip around for a bit.  I haven't tried the 821 yet either, but I did have the 1200S for a week.  Love the new engine, but it was a reliability nightmare.  Go figure.  The old 796 look so much nicer with the single-side swing arm and more frame shown.  Plus, you can find them with barely any kms for less than $10k now.

Flinter, the SV650 is an excellent bike.  Incredibly durable, easy to ride yet can be made to be decent performers too.  I just don't like the clip-on handle bars now in my old age.

Congrats, just checked out the Build & Price, decent 1.9% on a 24 month lease.  I assume it's manual... And glad you didn't the STi, can't stand the wing!

Nice choice Jeff and congrats!  WRX is an awesome bargain imo and I don't find it ugly like the STI.  I'd actually consider the STI if they'd remove the wing at no charge... :D

If you order a base model STI it comes sans-wing.

Good to know.  I really have an aversion to spoilers especially on sedans.  When we bought the Fusion in 09 we actually had to 3 weeks in order to get a loaded one sans spoiler and even then we had to compromise on colour choice.  Would have had to wait another 3 weeks if we insisted on the original colour.

I have a feeling the WRX base with its more compliant suspension may be the more sensible choice anyway.  What was your reason for not springing for the STI?

I think he said earlier because he was cheap.

Personally, I think the WRX is the better buy.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

That's exactly it.  The primary motivator for me in getting rid of the 335i that I loved so much was to have much less money tied up in a car that barely gets driven (that and the constant sense of impending doom that the FGC would start to self destruct now that the warranty is up).  I put a cap on the budget of the cars I was looking at at $30k.  The base GTI, Cooper S, BRZ were all other contenders too.  The opportunity for this (ahem) "lightly used" WRX came up and it was a deal too good to pass up.  Certainly wouldn't have been my colour choice, but I do like that it's the ultimate sleeper.  Ugly little economy car with silly-looking little wheels that can go chasing the high performance cars no matter the road conditions or weather.

Ironically this base model has more features and amenities than my BMW had (Bluetooth, USB input, rear camera, and AWD if you consider it a feature).

Yeah, I was amazed how far behind technologically the 535i was compared to the Gen Coupe.

That's another thing that really appeals to me about this car.   Sounds like you lucked out as lightly used almost-new WRXs are likely as common as teeth on a hen.

 :skid: indeed

And, the modding is now complete.

Snow tires and tints done.  That's it.  No more money except service and fuel for this thing.
