Finally the design for the revised Accent hatchback is out!  Includes photos:

Looks a little cartoonish from the front, but the rear profile is very nice.

Wow, that looks way better than the current accent. The old one looked like a a transformer, this one looks nice and sporty. I hope they do a nice job with the Elantra hatchback next year.

Wow, the car has 4 wheels!

Sorry I couldn't come up with something more interesting. ;)

Not a bad looking car...

Not great looking either, mind.  Maybe it'll grow on me (the SiR did...).

Here were some additional shots to those:

Still pretty slick if you're askin' me, for what's sure to be a low price. Nice black interior too, combined with alloys and front fogs. No longer a notchback and maybe there's less cargo space, although they aren't as versatile as flat-back hatches anyhow.

The oddball bodyside moulding from the sedan is gone! And a decent audio unit AND a power sunroof!!!

If I had to get an el-cheapo car early next year, this would be it for me.

Hyundai is making some great strides of late. The new Accent is no exception. Nice little car.

SAM, do you have any line on info saying we're getting all those features?  My concern is that Hyundai Canada is going to screw the pooch like Kia did with the Rio, and leave features that were standadrd/available in the US off the Canadian 2007 Accent....

Looks clean and simple, but perhaps too simple and plain to do anything that will create any interest. The stuff that made the Accent SR Concept looked good were mostly gone (headlights, grill, and muscular fenders <-- this part looked the best).

Well the sedan is getting side air bags in Canada vs the Rio... and upmarket Accent sedans get ABS too, so I'd imagine there's a healthy chance the 3-dr hatch will too. I'm sure there will be a base version in Canada and a sporty model like currently, but I don't know any more than the rest of you. Just speculating.
