CSX product guide
« on: October 27, 2005, 04:20:19 pm »
Someone over at vtec.net has posted a csx product guide.  Unfortunately there will be no VSA on it.  Also no sunroof on touring models.

See:

Interesting equipment walk and guide.

Pricing still is unconfirmed by the looks of it. Should be an interesting experiment for Acura.

If the specs posted for CSX on Vtec are correct for the base Touring grade, hooray ;D

Don't care for sun/moonroof (they all leaks eventually, especially here in BC), and the idea of leather/dead animal skin in my car make me sick to the stomach! Have you ever seen the TV ads showing how some countries killed the dogs/cats just to get their skins? Granted the leather seats in cars are not made of dog/cat skins, but the thought of it just make me want to puke.

I would also rather not have std alloy wheels for the base Touring grade, but I think I can put up with them as std equipments. It's good to have a set of steel wheels during the Winter months...pot holes...pot holes... and I can always get a set of better alloy wheels myself for the rest of the year!

If Honda Canada would put in VSA as std instead of alloy wheels, that would be perfect!

I'm very glad to see Honda Canada applied all of the 04 EL Touring grade (05 Touring has std sun/moonroof!) equipments on the new CSX Touring grade (in particular the cruise control) and NO sun/moonroof, NO leather! Honda therefore can counts on me to trade in my 95 Integra for the new CSX Touring.

VSA should be standard in CSX given its an entry-level luxury car.

Stupid question: What is VSA?

It is how Acura calls its ESP (Estabilization system program)

Stupid question: What is VSA?

VSA = Vehicle Stability Assistance
basically Acura's version of ESP = Electronic Stability Program
2011 MB C300 4Matic (Tenorite Grey)
2010 MB C300 4Matic (Iridium Silver)
2002 VW Jetta 1.8T GLS Sport Luxury Leather package

Another stupid question: how is VSA different from Traction Control?

VSA will try to correct for loss of vehicle control by analyzing the direction of the spin then send signals to the appropriate wheels to brake and try to correct.

Traction controls compensate for wheel spin only.

Yeah ok that's what I thought. Thanks!

I guess VSA depends on the car's ABS system, right?

I'm happy to see that the CSX has a trunk release feature on the remote.  It'll also be interesting to see what the fuel economy is supposed to be with the 2.0 litre engine, as opposed to the 1.8 in the Civic.  Has anyone heard?

However, I'm disappointed that the interior color is limited to black.  I can't figure out why so many car manufacturers don't allow a choice in colors and have only black--even options of one light color and one dark color would satisfy me (and I think a lot of other consumers).  Black makes the interior so dark at night and hard to see things inside the car.  It's even hard to see things inside the car if bright sun is in your eyes.

The Civic has a gray interior which is fine with me, but also has the option of beige.

I'm very interested in what the CSX will be like, but whatever the price and fuel economy I would go for the Civic instead because of the black interior.....

This question... from the BLACKsmith?

Kidding aside, I'm sick of black myself.

I think the CSX needs more TLAs, especially in view of the VSA which is really an ESP.  What is the MRSP with no VSA, if the HST is considered on top of the PDI?

Only Canadian civics have no remote trunk release.  ::) :P Who in Honda would bother with doing that to Canadian models only. >:(

The 2.0 gas mileage will be noteably less than the 1.8 based on experience with the 2.0 in the SIR.  But will CSX owners care?  I don't think so.  Only thing that will make the CSX suck is if the manual is 5 speed.
 :P

Beige is not an option.  It is mandatory on the Royal Blue Pearl and only on LX and EX. Again who thinks of this crazy stuff?

Other thing is that the passenger door has no key slot. :o :P
