Alternates to tire size P205/65R15
« on: October 23, 2005, 01:36:46 am »
What are some alternates to the tire size P205/65R15. I'd like to keep the size of the rim because I will be using my old steelies to put on new tires. Bigger tire size is preferred. I am going to check the price differences. From the stock size etc. These tires need to fit on a 2003 Toyota Camry :)

Maximum difference is typically 3% in the overall tire diameter. 205/65R15 = 25.49". Suggested alternatives include: 215/60R15 (-1.31%), 215/65R15 (+2.01%), 195/65R15 (-2.01%), 195/70R15 (+1.00%). For winter tires, a slightly narrower tire like a 195 is often recommended.

Not sure why you need alternate tire sizes as 205/65R15 are fairly common....lotsa brands are available.

205/65/15 is very common and lots to choose from. Alternate size is 215/60R15...it has very close to the same OD as stock size. Others will be larger or smaller and you have nothing to gain except possible rubbing or speedo issues.
