stigma is spelled with a "m", not an "n"
and Barrie I don't slam everything out there, if someone is misinformed i try to set them straight. Not many people with any knowledge of the global automotive business regard Honda as a "bad" car company. Even those who don't like Honda personally would generally acknowledge that engineering wise they are near the top of the pack. But basing your entire philosophy on what happened 30 years ago is not very fair now is it?
I had a few bad dates with women (ok girls, I was 15) back in the 70s, I still didn't swear off the species..
Back in 1976 Honda really didn't have a clue about what Canadian winters would do to their product. It took until the 80s and even 90s before they were at the level of the other guys as far as body rigidity and resistance to rust. So what? There was once a time when all the Japanese companies built crappy electronics, but last time I looked they overcame that "made in Japan" stigma. (Actually more like 20 years ago)
Korean made products today are where Japanese made were a few years back. They are closing the gap, I don't think the same can be said for Detroit iron.
