Run flats again
« on: October 15, 2005, 09:07:03 pm »
Are the rims that come with runflat tires compatible with ordinary tires?

This question provoked by a Tor Star article about someone who got rather hosed on a lease of a vehicle with run flats

I wonder if  replacing them with regular tires and carrying one of those small compressors with the can of sealant would be a cheap way out.
The most radical revolutionary will become a conservative the day after the revolution.

You can put regular tires on the wheels. However, I would be sure that the lease doesnt require you to replace the tires with Run-Flats. If they catch you on return you could be forced to purchase a set of Run-Flats. This would be a double whammey. Buy the first set and then have to buy another...Ouch!

No problem...If you get a new 330 (nice) then you will want to go with the RunFlats. You would be looking at either Dunlop M3 DSST or Pirelli Sottozeros.
