2006 Honda Civic Si - Price Release ?
« on: October 12, 2005, 09:02:56 pm »
Does anyone have any idea on the price for the Si in Canada? If nothing has been released yet, post the MRSP here when available.

All I know is it's not available until December.   :-X

Thanks!

Add one more to the list of Civic threads...

Release: December 1
Price: Said to be around $28 000, but possibly under $25 000.

Thanks, but I'm looking for something a little more solid than under 25 or around 28. Maybe someone can spill the beans. ;D

Pricing info should be out there somewhere.  If nobody knows, just check honda.ca for a few months, until they update the Civic Si site that is  ;)

Let's get the pricing for the Acura CSX first.
The vehicle should come in Nov.

as has been mentioned, oh, about 100 times, the Si will not land until Dec. 1st. Honda will not release prices until just prior to that date, likely around Nov. 15th or so.

Maybe this information will give you an idea until the actual price is released......
MSRP for 2006 Civic Coupe EX with Sunroof, Premium AM/FM/CD/MP3 compatible high power audio system with subwoofer, steering wheel-mounted Illuminated audio controls, second accessory socket, chrome exhaust finisher, 5-speed automatic transmission with grade logic control,  base price $23,400.00.  Civic Si from what i've read "should" be under $27,000.00. I'm hazarding an educated guess at $25,500.00 base price!

According to Honda.ca the EX Coupe in manual tranny is $23,425 Freight and PDI included @ $1225.

The 2002 to 2004 SIR all listed at $25,500 plus Freight and PDI  :P :nono:  :D

I'm going to go out on the limb here and say $25,900 plus $1125 PDI , air tax, fuel penalty tax,  ::) and admin fee for a total sale price of approx. $27,300.  plus tax.  In Ontario that will be $31,350 more or less. :o

The first SIs to be sold will go for full pop and the interest rate is not great @ 6.4%

The other thing is insurance (at least in Ontario).  I called my broker regarding what the insurance implications were going to be for a brand new 2005 Tacoma Access Cab 4x4 TDR package listing at $35,000 before tax in contrast to what it might replace which was a 2002 SIR with the a depreciation waiver on it at $23,000 tax in (Tacoma had waiver as well).  The Tacoma was cheaper. :o

2006 SI is a rocket compared to 2002-2004 SIR.  Insurance will be nasty. ;D

I was trying out the manual tranny on a Civic LX the other day, and the stick / clutch combo was horrible. Shift linkage was typical Honda smooth, but the stick itself felt flabby and sloppy during the shifts to the point that I can wiggle the stick a bit after it was in gear! The clutch also felt far too soft, and it wouldn't be a stretch to say that it was down right limp.

I sure hope the transmission / clutch combo in the Si is nothing like the one in the regular Civics.

I agree, the stick is a little loose, but I thought the clutch was very solid.  I've test driven the EX and LX.

The soft clutch could be the direct result of the demo car, although it seems unlikely that it could go limp so quickly. Maybe I'll try another sample at a different dealership.

says about 20000$ US, so, using www.xe.com = 23,704.19 CAD.

I would say 25K canadian should be more then enough. Also, we have to keep in mind that the Civic is in direct competition with the Cobalt SS / ION (around 23K), SRT4 (it is a fabulous animal that is in another class I know) (26-27K), Sentra SE-R SpecV (22K). If they ask 27000$ for it, they will start to lose some sales as they did with the 2003-2004 SiR. Dealers in my area were asking 21K to clean their stock last year.

That's my .02.

That's my .02.

You can't use a straight currency exchange to determine prices from US to CDN in cars.

The US 2002-2005 SI was listed @19,320 USD (never changed  and today on that exchange site that works out to 22,869 CDN.  The SIR was always listed @ $25,500 here from 2002-2004.

It looks like it was stuck in traffic. ;)

Whats with the trunk.  It looked sprunged out or something. Just the picture I guess .

So Gabl, what was it like in white?  White available on all 06 Civics in USA but not in Canada.  I wonder if that was my son? :D He was down at a Honda dealer located at Markham Road and Finch East trying to flog the SIR. at about 2:00 pm. ;D

It was the white on the old SiR, and it looks pretty good! And the wheels too! I think Si will have white available when they come to Canada, coz that's the official color for Honda tuned cars. And it was at Hwy 7 and Bathurst at 5pm. So I guess it's not the same as your son's. Or maybe he was able to drive it for a few hrs around town?  ;)

Traum and PaulK

What is your opinion regarding the handle of the emergency brake lever.  Did it conflict with parts of your right leg any?
