Lexus IS250
« on: October 05, 2005, 11:19:10 pm »
It's been a while since we talked about it.
The Lexus website has all the specs and the pricng for the accessories but not the MRSP  :banghead:
http://www.lexus.ca/lexus/experience/en/home/vehicles/specs/BK262M2006/specs_features.jsp?model=BK262M&year=2006
When is the info going to be available?

The car is suppose to be available this month.   I was thinking about this car today as well and started looking for the MSRP but couldn't find it.  I e-mailed a friend that works at the local dealer.  Going to see if I can attend the launch.

According to an Edmunds.com interview...

Quote
Karlos72 asks: When will official pricing be announced? Any hints?

Bob Carter: We will be releasing pricing publicly on October 11. What I can promise you is that the IS will be an incredible value in this segment.

October 11, next tuesday...

Bob Carter: Leather seating, smart start and sunroof are included as standard equipment in the base price of all IS models. Newsflash: This is the first time we're releasing that information publicly!

Whohoooo!!! Smart move! Now as long as they don't price it over 40k, we might have my next car (in 47 months...  :P)

Keeping my eye VERY closely on this car. It could be our replacement car for my wife's Audi next year. Unfortunately, we'll have to get automatic for her, and likely just go with the base model (don't need all those useless frills)

This morning on the radio I heard a commercial for the IS250/350

They said it was to be released Oct 12th and that the pricing started at $39,990

I thought I might be going to the release but not if it's the 12th I don't think I'll get the invitation in time and I'm busy that evening :(

$40,000 seems a bit high for an IS250, but it should have more gadets than the TL and G35.
Will see and analyse.

I guess the AWD would be around $43,000.
And the IS350 around $48,000?  :-\

Man... $40k is more than I expected. And Toyota wants the IS to compete against the likes of the 3-series and C-class?

It better be well equipped for $40K compared to the old base model of the IS300 which was quite lacking.

www.lexus.ca it does look like it comes with lots of stuff.  But a lot of price raising stuff you don't really need, like smart key system, push button start etc.

how does one get invited to Tony Graham? I emailed them and there was no mention of a launch event.

I assumed there was going to be so I e-mailed a salesman there that I know.  I think it may be too late to get an invitation as they have to mail them out to you.

So I guess this will be Toy's competitor to the popular Acura TSX? Or am I totally way off here?
