Tire down sizing for 2000 Dodge PUp
« on: October 05, 2005, 10:37:37 am »
Hello all, new here and LOVING it so far....

I have been offered a nice NEW set of Blizzaks - 205/70R15.
According to the sticker on my door, my dodge pickup, 2-dr, 2WD has a rating of P215/75R15.
These are on rims from a 1994 Caravan SE.

Can I use them? Should I use them?

Any input would be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks in advance to all.

These tires are 2 sizes too small.  So don't use them.  Overloaded tire failures are not pretty sights!

Not recommended. As capriracer has said they do not have the load carrying capacity for your vehcile and could fail. You will also find the vehicle sitting lower than normal and this could effect ground clearance in deep snow. Not a good idea. Maybe you can sell them and get the appropriate tires?

OK, that is what I was thinking, too small and not a good idea.

I was ALSO thinking of doing the second suggestion and taking them over to a tire place and selling them to him for a discount on new/proper tires.

THANKS eh
