Blizzak Revo 1 wins Tirerack test...
« on: October 04, 2005, 12:14:46 am »
And the WS-50 and Michelin X-Ice are a close second and third with the Dunlop Graspic DS-2 a little futher behind.  The real info is in how much better they ALL do than an all-season tire...

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/bs_blizzak_revo1.jsp

"During the acceleration test, the Blizzak REVO 1 tires proved Bridgestone's claims were justified. They ran the fastest 60-foot times of the four tires and earned a traction index of 100, followed by the Blizzak WS-50 (94 traction index) and X-Ice (93 traction index), with the Graspic DS-2 (86 traction index) finishing behind the other three winter tires.

However, when considering these acceleration results, it's also important to remember that all of the Studless Winter tires outperformed a representative Standard Touring All-Season tire by a considerable margin. The Standard Touring All-Season tires in this test had an ice traction index of only 66."

This is a nice tire. It appears to be an improvement on the WS50. Wont know until we have snow and more customers running it. Time will tell if they do actually last longer. If they are better than the WS50 in ice performance with better wear it will be an amazing tire.
