Santa Fe sport wagon?  Did I read that correctly?  7 passenger sport wagon?  So a Volvo V70 competitor?  Or is this a marketing 'label' for a midsize SUV?

I expect next Santa Fe to be something similar to Highlander and Pilot.

Those are hardly sport wagons.....IF that is the case....wishful thinking perhaps?

Those are jacked-up Camry and Accord. Obviously.

The next Santa Fe looks longer and larger than the current one, but far more agile than Highlander and much lower than a Pilot. I'm sure the interior space won't measure to the Pilot either.

It'll be what it is... something a little different. Right now I'm thinking of the Santa Fe as a Suzuki XL-7 with a powerful engine, much better handling, more visual cleanliness and sportiness, and a modern Hyundai interior.

But photos can be deceiving where size is concerned.

Thanks Neil.  It doesn't look that much bigger.  But the lines are very nice.  It reminds me of the previous RX300 in the rear...and a bit of Saab front lights (can't see the full frontal), but the look is not a bad thing at all.  As for the classification of a sports wagon?  Not likely.  I consider the 3 wagon, the A4 Avant, and Volvo V50 a sport wagon....this looks to be too tall and bulky to keep up with those vehicles.

Either way, this should give the new Grand Vitara a good run for value cute ute if they keep pricing right.

The front is horny

As for "sport", there is the Portico coming in '08.  Now we know how automakers flaunt the "sport" badge, Windstar, Caravan, Explorer ::)
