No need for spy pics, Mercedes-Benz Canada has real pics of it and a mini-site dedicated to the B200.

http://www.mercedes-benz.ca/index.cfm?id=2921

And Laurance Yap drove it and wrote an article for Canadian Driver:

Yeah, should be out within what, 2 months?

Probably $29,9-32,5Gs to start, I'd imagine.
I'm looking FW to them - hear they're amazingly roomy inside, and the cargo area ingenious. 200hp in that thing oughtta be a blast.

no sign of a diesel ALTHOUGH the engine animation on the minsite shows a diesel with the low red line

27984 lbs!   Holy Moly that is more than my 330...which is porky indeed.   I think ( without verfiying) that the A-Classe was only about 2200 lbs.... never understood why they never sold that in Canada

I see this car quite often on the road. The front looks good, but the back looks pretty awkward, I can't get used to it. The car is a member of the subcompact minivans, smaller than the class leading Renault Scenic or Mazda 5, but way more expensive. Forget about it and take the Mazda.

Regards,
Martin

Tpl 2794lbs isn't porky.....

The current 330i weights     2030KGs!  That's 4475lbs!

2794lbs is down right light, that's lighter than my S2000!

It's quite surprising actually that the B-Class is LIGHTER than the Mazda3! Mercedes are usually quite heavy, as are all german vehicles, but this one is very light... I guess the FWD drivetrain instead of Mercedes' usual RWD setup saves quite a bit of weight... but still... From pictures I've seen, I'd say the B-Class is about the same size as the Mazda5, or maybe slightly smaller and be more similar to the Matrix... It seems like an interesting vehicle for sure.

"27984 lbs! Holy Moly that is more than my 330...which is porky indeed."

Well 27984 lbs WOULD be porky, but you have added an extra digit. It's just about the same as a Matrix and is 3" shorter.

James was adding approx. 1000lbs for passenger weight - I guess he's fond of the donuts.

ooops, I grabbed it from that same page.  I grabbed the gross vehicle weight.  Actually that's surprising it can carry 1000lbs of stuff.  Most sedans do not, some only carry about 400lbs

"some only carry about 400lbs"

Really? Even the 2006 Echo has a 885 lb. payload!

James, how can a sedan only carry 400lbs? That's only 2 or 3 people! What's the point in having a 4 door sedan if you can only carry 2 or 3 adults in it? Which sedan have that 400lbs limit?

B-Class should look more Matrix than Mazda5.

Yes it looks more like the Matrix than the mini-mini-van Mazda5... but I think the B-Class is slightly bigger than the Matrix.

I think the B-Class is smaller than a Matrix.

More like a shorter A3 with a taller roof.

Joie_de_vivre, I can't get used to the back either. Like the front, the side is cool b/c it's so compact and chunky with that crease up the sides, but the rear looks like it was kicked-in good just above the bumper. Tail lights just placed there, and as though the rear tires are 2" from the very rear of the car and that rear bumper is kicked up and really is just for show. And people thought the 3-Series Hatch was truncated? Seen how versatile the interior is - brilliant, and the interior is gorgeous, but it's a very compact vehicle with lots of interior room.

I'm looking at photos again and the size of this vehicle is hard to tell from photos. It appears dinky, but that wheelbase is very long compared to overall length.

It's really too bad M-B won't sell the B-Class with a diesel engine with power somewhere in between the 1.9L and 2.0L VW TDIs... It would have made the $33-34k price a little more appealing.
