They were literally exactly the same as the R/T. I had an Intrepid R/T that I loved (I was 17-21, give me a break  :) ), and swapped a bunch of 300M Special stuff onto.

The 300M Special got 18" wheels, unique springs, a 5hp tune through the PCM, and firmer shifts in manual mode. Those were the only performance differences, and the weight difference wasn't all that much.

If you think the Special was a turd, so was the R/T.

I also recall...at night...the interior being positively pitch dark in the 300M.  I think at the time (and maybe even now) it was the darkest car I'd ever been in.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

I like the 300M, especially the Special, it hit all the right boxes for me....spacious, good power from the 3.5L, really well equipped for it's time, comfortable, nice ride. Hardly ever see them now days.

One of those platforms where it really matter how you spec'd it out. A basic Intrepid, awful, especially with the 2.7L. But a loaded up 300M, or even a Concorde...pretty nice.

There is a raised manhole around work that I've always said is going to catch someones oil pan, sure as shise, drove by it this morning, plastic bits all over the place and a big trail of oil. Thats gotta suck, I think the city should pay for that.
Lighten up Francis.....

These grow like shrooms around here when they grind out old asphalt and let the traffic through. Makes me wonder how many Tesla batteries they have claimed...

Technically not on my way to work...because I don't. But I saw an Lexus LC500 at crappy tire the other day. A rare sight. Certainly unique and a way to stand out from the crowd. Looked nice in blue with beige top.

A few interesting things the past few days:

A neat camper van parked at Wal-Mart.  It was a RHD Citroen Relay with UK license plates.  Usually these foreign campers are the megabuck overland rigs.

A 2-door Fiat 500 in traffic.  Ended up beside it at a stop light.  Then noticed crammed in the back seat was a VERY elderly gentleman.  Hopefully no injuries occurred getting in there and back out!

Saw my first Mazda MX-30 with a private plate - the one or two I saw prior had fleet plates. So someone actually bought one. I would not mind the low range ... if it was proportionally cheaper.

Red with silver roof as with this one - not a good combo IMHO.

^^ Nice one! It survived all the "Day 2" shenanigans these cars suffered. My aunt had a coupe of similar vintage, brown on brown, upscale Ghia trim but straight six automatic without power steering or power brakes.

MB EQS 580

Riding behind it I could clearly see that giant screen in the middle. Wow is that huge!
