I thought it was surprising the local Toyota dealership had a full lineup of used Tesla's.

^^ Wow. Dealers are trying everything to stay afloat. Imagine being a dealer buy having nothing to sell...it would suck
I love it when a plan comes together.

And revenue from the service department must be WAY down since everyone in Ottawa is now working from home.

Dunno about that. We are slammed until mid June right now at Volvo. LR was never slow either. Service depts are doing perfectly fine...
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

LOL.

In all seriousness though, auto service in general has been really strong recently. People deferred a lot of maintenance during the pandemic because they were not driving much (and/or were focused on other issues). Now that things have re-opened, people are driving more, or planning to drive more (summer road trips and whatever), so they're catching up on that deferred maintenance.

Hopefully gas prices don't put too much of a damper on it....

Most of the UHaul trucks I see are registered in AZ. Something to do with the laws there being favorable.

I did see a Prius this morning with a California plate. Good looking plate, 3-colors, nice script. Wish we had a better looking plate.

Not on my way to work, but I was dropping my dad off at the airport today and on the way back into town I saw a fairly clean looking MkII Golf. It caught my eye as you don't see many 30+ year old cars on the road anymore, and it had probably been some time since I'd see a VW from that era. Five minutes later on the same road I saw a MkII Jetta!

Nice! Yes they all seemed to have disappeared, likely rusted away. I owned three MKII Jettas...one I painted yellow.

I almost bought a diesel, it would have been an '87-'89 model. This would have been in 2000. Took it to a VW mechanic for a PPI and he called me back and said the first thing he saw were rusted out rear shock towers. Didn't charge me which was nice of him.

My 1985 was a diesel 5 speed...slow...but very, very economical. Got stolen

On my commute to and from work I walk by this fairly small two unit house on a pretty small corner lot. The house is fairly nondescript aside from the fact they painted it butterscotch when they completely renovated it in the '00s. The owner of it is Lebanese and owns a bunch of apartment buildings and I'm not sure why he chooses to live in this place. He's got a new Yukon Denali that just barely fits in the driveway for his unit.

Funny thing is, he seems to have a bunch of sports cars that he keeps somewhere else. This morning there was a blue C8 in the driveway, last year there was a 993 Targa there, and the year before I saw a white Supra several times. So strange.

Nash. Asking price was $7500 which seems pretty reasonable.

Saw a mint, basic 4-door Ford Escort from the 3rd and last generation in North-America (1997-2003). Silver sedan driven by a kid, probably a hand-me-down from his grands. Not many of these consumable cars survived. Same as this one, right down to the oem wheel covers.

Saw a Saab 9-5 today, maybe a 2010 or 2011? The last of the line.  Still a beautiful car.

Yeah a gorgeous car, if it want for the parts supply I would have loved to snag a AWD Turbo V6.
