I test drove an '07 9-3 manual wagon with the 2.0T and thought it drove great.

It was just as Saab was going under the parts availability scared me away.

We went with an manual Mazda5 instead, and while that was a way better vehicle for a family with young kids, I always wonder about the Saab.
Honestly, parts was never a problem for my Saab. Lots of availability for all the major stuff, especially when crossed with GM AcDelco stuff. Only tricky bit was proprietary programming, which some shops still had the software (had to replace / program a throttle body that was starting to stick at 250k).
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

That's what I figured it was like in the end, and why I look back with a tinge of regret.  But when the guy at Scandanavian Auto Service said I shouldn't buy it, I got cold feet.

Haha yeah Karl did all the work on my Saab over the years. He gives good - if a little jaded -  advice.

He told me to run away from one as well  Even though it would have made him money in repairs.

In Oakville, with no front plate and a red (dealer?) back license plate. All salty but looked sharp.

Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish and he wakes you up at 5 in the morning.

I've been seeing a couple of Polestar 2s around with customer/regular plates. They look cool for sure, and it drives really well.

Three odd sightings this morning on the way to drop a car and pick up another one:

1) newly purchased Saturn Sky (clean, no snow tires and no plates);

2) Ford Taurus wagon (dinged, but still surviving)

3) Suzuki XL7 (these were rare when new!)

I was driving behind a 3rd gen Taurus sedan today thinking that design hasn't aged well at all.   :P

Fun fact, the Suzuki XL7 could be had with 4WD and a manual trans!

Definitely a cool combination. This plus body-on-frame layout makes it pretty neat in my eyes.

And as I understand it, they were pretty rugged too.

Agreed...cool little truck.

There are a few XL7 kicking around Moncton.  My neighbour down the street has a daughter in university who's been driving an SX4 for a few years now, says it's been rock solid and drives really well in the snow.

Still a few XL7s kicking around these parts as well.  We had a pretty good dealer here back in the day (also the Subaru dealer) and they sold really well.

The XL7 was so ugly though.  It wouldn't have taken much to tweak the headlights and turn it into a decent looking vehicle.

Before I bought the Mazda5 I looked hard for a V6 Grand Vitara with a manual.  I always liked the look of those.

Suzuki’s have a cult following here in BC. We even have a company that specializes in modding and repairs just for them. My neighbour has a Grand Vitara that has over $10,000 in aftermarket, just used for his hunting and fishing trips. They small SUV’s and SX4’s are worth decent money.

Dodge Colt 200! Survivor indeed, no time for pic as it was driving in the opposite direction. Had some primer, but still sported the oem wheel covers.
