^^ C'mon there is one car in the photo. :P

That's barely a car.  ;D

I'd rather that than any SUV. :P

I’m guessing if a similar photo had been taken with common, everyday vehicles from any particular era, most would probably think everything looked alike in the past as well.

Agree. Was just looking at some photos of my town from the early 70's. Every car is a full size 3 box 'Simpsons' car, and every pickup is a full size single cab 2WD

Did have more colours back then

Green, brown, orange, yellow, tan/beige, etc seemed to be very popular 70’s colours. Unique for sure.

If I were rich, I’d buy a new Grand Wagoneer and do a full wood grain treatment on it. I’d absolutely love that!

I don't mind a colour for as long as it compliments a car's design. E.g, an executive, full size sedan is typically better off in white or black (IMHO) while an average CUV can benefit from a certain RGB mix, and that is the one MFGs often pick for their commercials and press events for the car in question.
This time around I chose "coastal grey" which is mainly blue to my eyes, because I've never had a blue car and also because it goes well with the enormous black Toyota grille.  :P

For a large sedan I think dark blues, greens, and even browns can look really classy.

There is a older fellow around here that has a really mint first gen. Always thought the second gen were a step backwards, the first just had such a unique look. Still, an attractive car and don’t really look 20+ years old.

I agree, 1st gen is a much nicer car to look at, and had a better interior IMO. The 2nd gen looks too much like bloated Alero. That said, it does look pretty mint...and kudos for running what appear to be wide, well-worn, all-seasons in Winnipeg winter  ;D

Saw a 9-4X the other day while walking to work. I had seen the same one years ago. Considering they only built ~800 of these it's an unexpected sight.

After I saw this I posted about it on #WeirdCarTwitter and like a week or two later someone replied:

This is #592 of 613 MY 2011 9-4x produced - a one-owner example that's spent its entire life in New Brunswick! Great spot, Oliver. According to research I and other enthusiasts have done, this is one of five in Canada.

Spotted my first Ioniq 5 in the wild yesterday. Black car with winter grime and steelies. Had the same shape as my 1982 Mazda GLC 5-door  ;D, looks a lot more ordinary in full "canuck camo" than in flashy pictures. Doesn't look like a CUV at all.

When I was three years old my dad came home with a brand new, bright red 1983 GLC sedan. Years later he told me he had also considered a black "sport" model (not sure if that was the actual trim name or not). That was a great little car, no pun intended. We had it for eight years and the only major issue was something with the carb that took a while to diagnose.

The GLC Sport was indeed the top trim, with blacked-out trim, sharp alloy wheels and more content. My car was a winter beater, a base 5-door automatic in silver over smurf-with-the-flu blue interior.. Paid all of $225 for an 8 y.o. car. Had Bondo, pop rivets. But I did a pretty good job on cosmetics and masked the car properly to trim it as a 5-door Sport that never existed. Had carb issues too. I picked off a right door mirror and indoor day/night mirror from a ritzier GLC sedan in a boneyard.

Neat! There's a silver one putting around Mississauga - I see it from time to time.

I saw a silver first generation Touareg W12 with Nova Scotia plates last week parked in downtown Moncton.  Can't be a whole lot of those around? I don't think it was ever sold in the US.

W12? They weren't even sold here. We got the V6 and V8 gas models, and the V10 TDI.

Yeah, I did a double-take when I saw it.  Would have taken a photo, but it was freezing that day....I was all bundled up and my phone wasn't easily accessible.  But it was definitely a W12, I looked right at the badge.
