Hyundai Venue. Driven by real demographic....a boomer....not the targeted millenials.

I saw my first Venue today.  Nice red colour.  Looks to be close to the Kia Soul in size, if not shape.

I could not see the driver clearly, so no comment on the demographic.  [emoji6]

A 4-car convoy of natives blocking all lanes and being escorted by the OPP while doing 50kph down the 401, followed by thousands of angry motorists and truckers.
Thankfully, not going my way :P

Stopped for gas on the way home and there was a guy juggling with one hand while he pumped his gas.

I parked next to a mint 7th Gen Corolla at Superstore this evening.  This thing is as vanilla as they come, even with an automatic transmission.  20 year old me would have just dismissed it.  36 year old me appreciates it because it's a super clean 20-year old appliance that somebody thought was worthwhile enough to keep nice.  Seriously mint.

Stuff like that is especially rare around here, where the road salt eats everything.  I saw an immaculate first-gen Forester here a couple of weeks ago.

So, I happened to come back to my truck at the same time as the owner.  Apparently he's the 2nd owner, having just bought it.  It's a Manitoba car, serviced at a local Toyota dealer its entire life.  133 000kms, which is very low for a 1997.

I'm as surprised as anyone that rust hasn't killed it, but this thing was immaculate inside and out.

Nice. Those are a high point for a basic and functional Corrola. I saw someone commuting in a mid 90s Toyota MR2 turbo through the cold and snow.

Cool!

GBA - generally, cars in MB, SK, and AB tend to rust much less than those in ON and points east.  Your much colder winter temperatures result in much less road salt being used, plus the less humid environment helps.

True, although 23 years old is getting on a bit even for a MB car.

Today I saw a Nautilus in the flesh for the first time.  It had the 2.7T and looked pretty good to my eyes.  What a difference a grille can make.

I've seen one around the neighbourhood a few times now. Good looking vehicle. I didn't realize until i checked but we no longer have a Lincoln dealer in SJ. Moncton is the closest place to buy one now.

I often see about that many in "elevator bay" here in Kingston.  Never seen them on dry land.

Wow, I didn't realize that.  I guess shouldn't be surprised.  We went for an uptown excursion with friends last weekend and the state of retail in SJ is pretty dire.

I am looking to buy a turntable for my audio system and my only option is to buy online.  Last time i bought audio stuff I was able to buy it locally but not anymore.   :P

Not sure of your TT budget, but bang for the buck wise this one is pretty good - https://www.glubes.ca/shop/turntables-accessories/turntables/pro-ject-belt-drive-turntable-debut-carbon-dc/

Yep, i think Downeys gave it up a few years ago. IDK if Ford was making demands for showroom, inventory etc or what.

Still doesn't help me with the lack of local dealers.  We used to have one that would sell quality used gear on consignment, and it was just nice to go in and chat with some like minded folks.

Seafoam, if you pm your buddies contact info i will give him a call to discuss.  Nice to see Glubes still hanging in there.  Spent lots of time there and at Peak Audio back in the day.

My stepfather would be appalled.  He was regional manager for Ford Canada many years ago.  He bought a new Lincoln every 2 years after he retired, and he was retired longer than he worked so he went through a lot of them...lol
