One of my coworkers got hit head on a couple of weeks ago. The pickup truck that hit him was going the wrong way on a divided hwy as it was being chased by the cops. It was just before rush hour and the truck had three tires taken out earlier by a spike belt. They cops behind them figured they were travelling ~120km/h at time of impact. Not sure how fast my buddy was going. He has no idea. Neither of the three goons in the truck had seat belts on and were all injured but not badly. The worst was a broken leg. My buddy essentially walked away. He was some sore for several days afterward and has a huge bruise in the shape of a seatbelt across his chest.
The Transit van did pretty damn well in protecting him considering the impact. Pretty good validation n how well crush zones work in modern vehicles. He's some damn lucky to be alive. Not sure how well the older E-Series vans would have handled this.

Anyways, the van was sitting ominously in the parking lot when i arrived at work late this morning.
