Seen this evening in Clifton Park, NY; 1971 Type 3 Variant.

Yesterday:

A brand new Land Rover Discovery with a spare wheel already missing from under the trunk floor. Wonder how long it will take the owner to notice...

Also a brand new Hyundai Palisade in dark burgundy with multi spoke 20" wheels. Apart from a bit much chrome in the front grille this thing looks like it could be made by Lexus or Genesis. So upscale and luxurious. p.s. It did not look huge, like a Nissan Armada, which is a good thing IMO. The starting price on the base FWD trim is quite attractive for what you get, one drawback seems to be the manual air  :-\

^^That's a Series 1 - 1970 and first month of 1971 build. Horizontal rear vents, gas cap cover twisty and from the factory fiberglass headlight nacelles.
Nice snag.

I reviewed the top-trim Telluride last month (not published yet), platform-mate to Palisade, and it really impressed me over the week. Drove "smaller" than Atlas, but about as big.

My biggest gripe with the Palisade top levels is the garish, cheap looking chrome rims. They utterly ruin a good looking car.

These wheels? I thought they looked good in person, the grille on the other hand was a bit much but I guess it won't take long to get used to, especially when compared to those spindle grilles.

P.s. I don't actually think they were chrome, more like brushed satin nickel IMO.

Yup, they look horrible to me. I think that most of that grille should be body color, that would make it a lot better looking.

Look at the latest Lexus or Nissan SUVs. "Over the top" is the name of the game today. Maybe it's what ppl want when they drop 60k for one of those.

There's the hot-hatch variant of my car, the 308 GTi in the employee car park today. It's a rental (Europcar).

I wish I could try it...... :'(
