Saw a 1LE SS Camaro that was black with the hood done in that wicked blue colour but was matte finish like the original black hood.

Gotta say it was hawt!!

Hmmm...am trying to picture it...and it looks hideous.   :rofl2:

Must be one of those "looks better in person" things....
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Buick Regal TourX wagon.

Saw elsewhere that it is selling better than anticipated and is being bought by the brand's wealthiest customers.

That reminded me that I saw a Buick Cascada a few days ago downtown. Red with black wheels like this guy:

For some reason I thought they had already discontinued the Cascada but they do have the 2019 model on their U.S. web site. It's gone after this year though. They sold just over 4000 of them last year.

I wonder if it would have done better as a Cruze convertible?

It seems to be generally competent, but marketing is so focused on performance, that a pleasant convertible just seems to get lost in the shuffle.

I'm still a bit lost on why this and the TourX weren't offered here.

Honestly, I expected the Cascada to be a bigger seller, but only because I could see fleets snatching it up as an alternative to the Mustang convertible (and as a de facto replacement for the Sebring convertible).

The Cascada would have sold in tiny numbers here but I would have thought the TourX could have done okay.

Also, I'm not sure if this is reflective of the entire country but the American brands simply don't move passenger cars in this area. One of the local Ford dealers has 172 new vehicles in stock and just six of those are cars: three Mustangs, and one each of Fiesta, Focus, and Fusion. The Buick-GMC dealer has 133 new vehicles and a LaCrosse is their single car. Chevrolet is a bit better: 36 out of 196, mostly Cruzes and Sparks.

I should stop and take more pictures while out cycling through the countryside as I've seen some nice cars.

Austin Healey 3000, like this but a dark blue. Looked and sounded great.

I always enjoy the most useless form of fuel economy measurement possible.

Hmmm...lessee...83,000 miles would be about 3500 km per year.  $40/mo = $480/yr...divide by km driven...yup, aint that good.  Works out to 13.7 cents per km...my Sonic has averaged 6.8c/km over the last 113,000+ km...  I also spend $40 a month on gas...and then some.

Reminds me of the story my salesman friend told me of a guy wanting to trade his truck in for a Focus.  Gas prices were rising, and damn, with his truck using so much fuel he needed to get out of it and into a more efficient car.  He hummed and hawed, and my friend finally asked him how much did he drive?  It too was a low number, and so he figured it out for the guy - based on mfg ratings, he would've saved about $350 per year.  Huh.  Guess he can keep the truck after all.

Some people don't bother with the big numbers.  Or even the little ones.

That to me was the death knell for them. They went from a quirky, forward thinking company to one selling rebadged plain, boring GM sedans.

When I bought my Altima, I came very, very close to buying a 9000 CSE, looked a lot like this one. Absolutely loved driving that car but the warranty on the Altima kinda sold it for me.
