This morning I saw a pair of Subaru Tribeca's side by side at a stop light.  I have to think I'd have better odds being hit by lightning than seeing that.

I've been seeing a first gen CR-V around in Canada Post livery. Thought it was odd that they'd have something so old, but then I saw it the other day and noticed it's a RHD JDM model complete with the fender mounted mirror on the passenger side.

There's a green one that does some rural routes around Moncton....no livery, though.

I admittedly saw this car while watching an episode of The Block AU last night, a renovation show from Australia.  But the contestants were all driving  VW Passat AllTracks.  Not sure how well the Golf version is selling here, but looked like a pretty nice package that would appeal to folks who like the Outback but want something a little nicer.  My wife, who has owned a 5th gen Jetta and 1st gen Q5, was all over it.

From that angle it kinda looks like a Santa Fe XL, and then squished down a little.

Going to the UK in a month, and I really want to rent a passat wagon while there. I just have to convince my travelling companions it's worth the premium  ::)

I'm looking at a variety of options. Prices are in the 300-400 GBP Range. The most complicated part is I'm trying to do a one-way rental, from either London or Oxford to GLA or EDI to GLA. Duration either 17 - 28 April or 20 - 28 April, so 8 to 10 days. Estate car options add a bit more.

The ideal is to have unlimited mileage because we're planning to go up to the Orkneys and a couple national parks.

Have you tried Kemwel? In 2017 we toured Scotland and England for 3 weeks and rented a Full Size (Advertised as an Audi A4 or similar) for 5 days that ended up costing us $379 US. We picked up the car at hertz and had the choice of an E Class Merc Sedan or Station wagon, both with Nav.
Deals are out there.

Thanks for that, deals do look interesting. Complications are that we're relatively young (25; some carriers still have underage surcharge)), want one-way rentals, along with multiple drivers. So far 400 GBP with costco travel is pretty good.

I also have discount code with AVIS through work which I'm exploring.

Hmmm...yes, under 25b would through a wrench into things - maybe not if you use your Avis (through your company) card. I have the same card but have found the deals with it 'spotty' and only in the US. Have also not done any one way rentals.
BTW, That's a lot of driving from London to the North tip of Scotland and back to EDI. You're going to be worn out.
Have you driven in the UK (left side) before?

Thankfully we're 25 now, last year was more complicated  ;D. I've driven on the left side in India before but not in the UK. My co-pilot has driven in NZ. Both of us experienced manual transmission drivers so that isn't an issue.

It's not a trivial amount of driving but I think it's reasonably done with two drivers.

The company code has been very useful for me in the past due to the under 25 factor. Oftentimes providers waive the fee.

Yes, good that you are both young. For me, I would want to stop and get out to see things too often. Anyway, nice trip. I just found that the weeks time spent in London and Cambridge wore me out. I much preferred Scotlands 'pace'. Although, the roads are very 'wee' in size and with castle tour bus after tour bus approaching at speed it's unnerving and gets tiring quickly.
