The FB Rx-7 kept the manual choke until 1985 for the base 12A power cars - my '85 had one. I had a 1991 Lada Niva with a manual choke - had to be one of the last in Canada with that feature.  :rofl2:

Drove by a tractor trailer road train a few minutes ago that was jackKnifed on the highway.  There was just enough room in the passing lane to get around him.  He didn't lose control but couldn't make up the icy hill and jackknifed trying to back down.   I'm surprised they let these things on the highway in the winter.  Even still, the highways are ice packed and I doubt if that truck made it more than 15 km from where he loaded.  Really dumb sending something like that out in these conditions.  ::)

Yeah, the roads in NB are really greasy.  Saw a lot of near misses this morning, folks pulling into traffic and causing the vehicle behind them to slam on the brakes and lose control.  You need to allow more room to pull into traffic when it's hard to slow down, people.

Yeah, just before the road train incident I saw a minivan with the entire front end ripped off by a garbage truck.  Looked like the minivan pulled out in front of the truck at the nearby intersection and got smoked!   Vehicles getting stuck all over the place.  Worst road conditions I've seen in a long time.   :P

Was that a full road train, with two 53 foot trailers?  If so, they are absolutely prohibited in bad weather.

Slightly related, my daughter is a paramedic.  On Sunday, in the middle of the ice and rain, they got the ambulance stuck twice on icy hills, and another 4 or 5 ambulances were stuck around town.  It was a sht show, as she says.

Couldn't really tell if they were 53 footers because the trailers were buckled into each other and just looked like a jumbled mess.  They were flatbed trailers though.

I'm working from home for the rest of the day hopefully.  No sense driving around looking for an accident.

Yep, roads in Saint John are terrible...3-4+" of hard packed ice with ruts and the odd pothole. My son in law got rear ended by a  Home Star 3/4 ton plow truck on the way to work this morning....year old Murano SL...his first "really nice" car.  :(
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

Yesterday morning, two lonely vehicles waiting to turn left, opposite commuter traffic. Both are G-Wagens.

That's why I was wishing for snow only.  Rain in the winter really SUCKS!   :P.

I had to buy some of that ice melt stuff yesterday so I could open and close my garage doors properly.  First time I've ever had to use the stuff.  Lots of people complaining about stuck garage doors and the bottom seal getting pulled off after opening.  I knew that was a possibility with all the water laying around so I put the doors in manual mode and left them sitting up a couple of inches above the floor to prevent them from freezing shut. Turned out to be a smart move as they would definitely would have frozen shut.

Note to readers: mlin32 is in Europe, hence the rare XT5 (2.0t?) sighting.

Still, that doesn't beat the teal 4-door, Iron Duke Grand Am I saw in Switzerland in 2015. Of all the ADM cars to import...

Saw a Tesla 3 for the first time in the flesh a few minutes ago.  Actually looked pretty good from the side view.  Certainly a unique profile and no mistaking it for something else.

There are at least two Model 3s in Regina, a red one and a black one.

I really like the look, especially the lack of a grotesque grill plastered over the front.

I wonder if that's because it has such a low cowl?  I bet it allows for great visibility.

I wonder if that's our local opthamolgist.  My daughter was in school with her son, and last summer he said she was going to get a Tesla, but I never heard what model.

Tonight:

1) Brand new looking, just washed, black Porsche Caymen.  Nice winter beater if ya got the $$$ I guess.

2) 2005 Suzuki Aerio SX 5-door AWD in awesome shape - always smile when I see Aerios still going strong.
