I hate that 6.  Sad grouper fish face.
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

Agree, shame about the wheels - but is it me or has that generation 6-series aged really well? I really dig the proportions whenever I see one.

LOL c'mon - you people have no taste! :P. Ok I agree the front grille is a bit meh, but slap on a bit of black paint or plasti-dip over the chrome bits and it looks great!

When it comes to 6 series, there can only be one:

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Yes, there can only be one.  You chose #2 though.    :rofl2:

^ That's not a 6 series, which started with the E24 in 1976.

I'll also take the extra 100hp, the extra gear in the transmission and actual structural rigidity.

I'm well aware.  But it was the replacement for that car...so you, know..the lineage is there.

passed an interesting looking viper on the linc this morning... nothing too new (like around the 2000 year give or take) and it had been done in a chameleon paint... or whatever you call em, and a big white stripe down the middle.

I think a car needs more curves and body to make it really work ('vert with a big stripe just didn't have enough surface imo)... but still interesting to see.

I saw an H3 lowered to the ground and with 30"+ rims.  I puked.  A lot.

Like this, but in white:

It might not be powerful, it may be a death trap made of tinfoil with no airbags, but that thing is pure automotive porn.  Now excuse me for a moment.  Something just popped up and I gotta head to the mens' room...

good god....must have had a hammer embedded in his skull to walk up to that and say "yes, this is the look I want"

the stance scene is disgusting and I hope it goes away soon - I have noticed it has replaced the "F&F" fad for young drivers...for what reason I have no idea
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

But this is sexy AF. Keep your 100hp, extra gear (both which are easily remedied with the aftermarket/custom scene) and your structural rigidity, I will take a car thats as pretty as the sun setting on Selma Hayek(to paraphrase Jeremy Clarkson)
Lighten up Francis.....

Ok, ok, I can't argue with you there. The OG 6-series still trumps all later iterations. That being said, I agree with Rrocket, the 3.0CS is a thing of beauty. But you're both wrong with the numerical order. The OG 6 is #3, the 3.0 is #2...

^^And that ugly thing was a replacement for this work of art...

Yes, there can only be one.  You chose #2 though.    :rofl2:

....and this is #1. It's not even a debate - it's scientific fact.  :P

Uhhh, no, while the flip up headlights were cool and the car was quite a looker, not even in the same level as the other two.

THAT'S AN 8 SERIES! That's even less of a 6 series than the 2800!

Bavarian Thunderbird. I knew a couple of people that picked them up cheap. One was an 850, the other the 840. Both were incredibly unreliable.

Yeah, the 850 was a gorgeous touring car with a beautifully silky V12.....that was two I6s welded together, had two of everything and made unreliable cars look like a Toyota Corolla. They are very, very cheap for a reason.

Haha, yes, but if memory serves, at the time of the 8's intro, BMW considered it a spiritual - if more upmarket - successor to the 6-series  ;)

Uhhh, no, while the flip up headlights were cool and the car was quite a looker, not even in the same level as the other two.

You're entitled to your opinion but it's totally wrong  ;D

I admit, the 3.0CS would be maybe tied with the 8-series for me - but only if you got rid of the CS's tacky black add-on spoilers and bumpers.

But the 6 remains a distant 3rd place. Reasons are three-fold: 1) lacking a pillarless design, 2) no rear haunches (never skip leg day, BMW!), and 3) the 8-series was the first BMW coupe that successfully - and beautifully, it must be said - integrated the required North American impact bumpers into its exterior design, such that they were flush and didn't stick out like some sort of horrendous orthopaedic add-on.

I would say thats equally as beautiful as the old 8 series....minus the pop up headlights cool factor
