I got passed by a beautiful early 90's Mercedes 500E heading up the Sea-to-Sky yesterday. Looked just like this one:

HOLY :censor:!!!!!!

I SAW A 2016 BUICK ENVISION PREMIUM II ON THE HANLON!!!!  It was gliding along so effortlessly, with no exhaust visible - it must have been using nearly no gas.  The occupants looked so coddled and happy - smug, almost.

I had an '85 Anniversary 'Bird...I always wanted a Turbo...or to at least make that sad POS 5.0 have some power.  Was a nice car for a kid.  Bought it for my 19th birthday on my 19th birthday.  So basically a 1 yr old car and IIRC it was under $15,000.  Lotta money back then, but a lotta car too.  A new Corolla/Accent is better equipped today...and probably faster, too.  I still want (another) one, but I want it faster.  Sold it, bought an '89 5.0 LX instead.

That's nothing; this week I saw 3-4 911 Turbos out in the slushy salty mess. One of them I see everyday, and while I am not much of a Porsche guy, this thing is gorgeous...Looks like this:

So then you wonder.....Are these guys just dumping every cent they've got into the car and can't afford a second vehicle for the winter? Or do they just have enough $ that they don't give a :censor:....

^ Man, that's gorgeous!  That colour wouldn't work on too many cars, but it certainly does on this one.  As for your question, I'd say probably a little bit of both.  I personally would never drive a car like that on crappy winter roads.

I just couldn't do it.  I'd probably cry if I saw it covered in slush, salt, and sand.  lol

Yeah, this week has been extremely salty....I was feeling bad for my press car (Mini Countryman JCW) and actually took it to a coin-op. That Smurf Blue Porsche is someone's daily, every day - I've been seeing it for at least 2 years now. Seeing it in the winter, when everything else around is a dirty stale looking grey is stunning. I need to try to grab a pic sometime.

Porsches quite likely have the best anti corrosion treatment on the market. Assist from the highest quality steel, I think the zinc in the steel adds 25lbs to the car. Their cathode e-paint priming goes over the entire body...7 entire coats! Then all weld seams and the undercarriage get EVA coating. Then some paint with plastic in it to seal everything.  Then I think 8 coats of body paint. It's VERY extensive.

Porsche encourages year round use of their cars....I'd not hesitate to drive it year round.

I've been there.

I was WAY more upset at having to park my sports car all winter.

I'd rather drive and get it dirty than park it.

Corrosion or no corrosion, I still couldn't do it.  While I always hate putting S2000 away for the winter, I'm always super excited to get it out in the spring..........it's kind of like driving it for the first time again.  No doubt it will be the same with the MR2 as well.

My 86 has galvanized steel even. My buddy drives his 1988 944 Turbo all year long in the GTA, not a spec of rust, car looks great still. He's actually doing the clutch himself right now at home. HUGE job on that car, like 30hr shop time big & he's doing it on jack stands! :S

I thought it meant 4 season.  ;D

Saw a Nissan GTR out this afternoon.  Not sure if it had snows on but i hope so as it was hovering around -11 all day.
