was it just a V6 upbadged?  :rofl2:
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

I saw a silver first generation Touareg W12 with Nova Scotia plates last week parked in downtown Moncton.  Can't be a whole lot of those around? I don't think it was ever sold in the US.

W12? They weren't even sold here. We got the V6 and V8 gas models, and the V10 TDI.

Only ever saw one V10 TDI and it was in Fredericton.  That was quite a few years ago though.

I actually had a Touareg V10 TDI for a couple of years. Absolutely loved the thing.

IQ had a boss who had one.

Like you, absolutely loved it.

Except the part about paying for repairs/maintenance.  Which seemed to be never ending.

FWIW, guy also owns a 1989 911 Speedster and a 911 TT.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

What’s the upbadge story? I never got that concept. The only people who will notice are those who will make fun of you. Around here, fake M cars are the most guilty of this.

Been dealing with the fallout from the power outage caused by this crane tumbling off the bridge and into the drink below.  That was one lucky crane operator!!!  Lucky that he didn't die either from drowning or electrocution. The boom of the crane is essentially held up by high tension power lines and communications cable.  All cables still intact.  Incredible really!  :o

Saw one of these: Saab 9-5 Aero Wagon.  I didn't have time to get a pic.

Almost bought one of those in 2007... test drove at least 5 of them at the time. Sweet ride, with some nice turbo lag/power.

I almost bought one too, an 06 Aero with a manual. Ex-wife refused to learn stick, so went with an auto 9-3 2.0T instead. Still regret giving in on that one...was a quick car once in boost, and very comfy.

IMHO SAAB's were only really great pre-1994, before GM had a hand in them. C'mon, someone go and buy this!

I dunno, as someone who ran a 2007 9-3 2.0T basically into the ground, tuned and modified for over 200k with very few problems, I found it to be a fantastic daily and not bad in the corners for a GM derived FWD platform. I agree it is not one of the all-time greats, but the 2000s Saabs are highly underrated IMHO.

Someone near me was selling one recently.  Looked like a cool project.
He was basically selling it for scrap money in hopes someone would keep it on the road.

I've mentioned before that back in 2009 I was car shopping with my dad and we test drove a manual 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero wagon. It was a really, really nice car but with 100k on it, it felt old and tired. It had been for sale for many months with several price reductions at a used car lot in Dartmouth and I had considered going down to buy it myself a couple of times. My dad ended up buying a Mazda 6 wagon with similar mileage and the same age and it drove like a new car in comparison.

I owned a 2004 9-3t (low pressure turbo) 5 speed manual. It was the best long drive touring car I've ever owned. There was no turbo lag with the low boost turbo. The torque curve was very flat.

I test drove an '07 9-3 manual wagon with the 2.0T and thought it drove great.

It was just as Saab was going under the parts availability scared me away.

We went with an manual Mazda5 instead, and while that was a way better vehicle for a family with young kids, I always wonder about the Saab.
