Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

Very cool car, but why would they let take it for a test drive?

A test drive is part of the PDI process to get the car ready for customers. I drove it for about 5 mins, just to make sure alignment was good, no drivetrain issues, etc. We do a test drive for all new vehicles, as well as all customer cars that go into the shop.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

I get the point of a PDI, but aren't you a service advisor? I have never heard of a anybody other than the tech who is doing the PDI take a car for the test drive. Also being a dealer trade, the other dealer should have already done the PDI.

We do PDI rechecks on every vehicle that comes in, and this one warranted one because it had been sitting for a while in a showroom. Full PDI if it is about to be bought by a VIP.

I did it because all the techs were busy, we dont have a tower operator who usually does the PDI test drives (recently fired and no rehire as of yet), and I was owed a little bonus after helping out with some shop stuff.

Our techs can do the test drives, but they would rather stay at their hoist where they make more money. Tower or apprentices do the test drives, and failing that, service advisors with some extra time.

Damn, that's a sweet ride.

This morning I saw a car pulled over.  Not interesting in its own right, but around the entire perimeter of the car was a pile of snow.  Presumably the dumbass was pulled over because they hadn't properly cleared their car.  I am all for this.

Just saw an SLK with the top down. At -3°C. Sun was in my face but I think the passenger was a Xmas tree. Car was red. Wait, did I just see Santa?

I think it looks more like a coupe of some sort.

Update: car interior now covered by a sheet.  I suspect there's a fatality.  :(

Update 2: fatality confirmed by media.
