Ron, whatever happened to your coolness...

Saw a Toyota Tundra in an odd, non-metallic beige colour the other day. Seemed really unusual to me, so I pointed it out to my wife and asked her what she thought of it. Her response was basically, “Blechh, that’s disgusting.”

I didn’t hate it that much, but certainly didn’t love it, and for sure would never buy it.

Anyway, not worth posting about, but then I saw a Tacoma in the same colour the next day. Then yesterday I saw a different Tacoma (this one had a snorkel) in the same colour. And WTF, just saw yet another one today? ???

Ok, so I guess it’s not that uncommon. Still ugly, but not uncommon. Funny how I never noticed these before. Looks like they’ve been selling this colour at least since 2016. Quicksand, I think?

I don’t think it’s that bad for a truck.  Not so great for a car.  Imo it’s better than that putty colour that is trendy now and looks like primer.

Like leadfoot gray?  Yah, facking disgusting.  It's not even a colour.  ::)

I like that a lot more than normal greys or silvers.

A colleague has a new Tacoma in that "cement grey" and I think it's great on that truck.

I like it . At least it is a different from the trend lately of all the brands having the same colours. Red,grey, silver, white, black repeat. ;D

Seems to be a trend towards these non-metallic paints. Not sure I’m sold on the greys and browns, but I kind of like it on the brighter blues, greens, and even orange.

Maybe other companies are doing it, too, but I notice it most on the Ram pickups. Has kind of a 70s feel to it, which I think is neat.

On the way to work: mint '95-'99 Tercel DX sedan, impressive.

On the way back: new Sprinter RV conversion with Montana plates (in Montreal...), a very rusty 4-door Sidekick with New-York plates and a zowy 4-seat dune buggy that looked fresh and modern in a very Hot Wheels-like metallic yellow-green.

On the way to work this AM, dead cat in the middle of my lane.

Getting nearer...going to go over it...and it stands up!

Turns out it's a squirrel

And it's friggin HUGE!  Huge I tell you!

I brake for fear of destroying the Sonic...and he scampers off the road in search of safety and more nuts.  Might even be someone's pet.  Never seen a squirrel that big.

Leaving downtown Toronto yesterday, beside me, then behind me... a Rolls Royce Phantom.  Either these guys were comically short, or the car is massive, because once they were behind me, all I could see of the driver were his sunglasses and the top of his head above the steering wheel.  Quite funny.   :rofl2:  Does it not come with adjustable seats?  Very awkwardly-proportioned vehicle, IMO.  Giant wheels, tiny trunk, long nose.
