I saw a new Elantra on the way into work.

Did not like.

Hood strakes seem to be the rage. Why?

The front end looks like a mess, kinda droopy and not at all cohesive.

It's like they set out to make an uglier Prius.

Awesome, Fiat 500Ls and Toyota Prius were ugly with front license plates and now they're going to look so hot without them.

Brilliant....no better way to ruin a cars front end than by sticking a plate to it.
Lighten up Francis.....

It's like they set out to make an uglier Prius.

I find the really straight lines of the headlights out of sync with the more rounded feel of the rest of the car...

yep, it is as if some Toyota designers strayed over to Hyundai

this thing is hideous

I don't really mind the standard European plates. Usually the cars here have the width as part of the bumper design so it's not like it sticks out.

Plus, the licence plate recognition used in some car parks is clever.

I had a meeting with a customer and his wife this morning.  They drove to my office in their 2016 Dodge Challenger Superbee.  Beautiful car.  Red interior on White exterior.  6 speed manual.  392 Hemi with a shaker hood.  I spent a few minutes talking car with the guy when we were done doing business.

Driving on the hwy to work this AM there is this Dodge Caravan in the passing lane doing the speed limit (90) and not pulling over in the right lane for the faster traffic. There was a Patriot in front of me directly behind the minivan and he was literally tailgating so the minivan moves out of the way and he can pass on the left side. However this minivan was just driving in the passing lane with no consideration, I decide to pass on the right going about 20 km over the speed limit and as I pass him the driver just looks at me with a smile. As i pull back in the right lane I can see behind me a lot of cars passing the minivan on the right. few minutes later I see blue and red lights behind and I think finally the cops are pulling the minivan over for dangerous driving. I slow down and realize that the Patriot is being chased by the minivan with the lights on. It was a cop and the Jeep was going very fast. This is a first that I see a minivan being used as a speed trap car. I think that this was a douche move on the cop.

Uninteresting things seen on the way to work thread would be more appropriate, I guess..

A Volkswagen Caravan, euh Dodge Routan, no a Volkswagen Routan !

Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Routan says it has been build from 2008-2013 (MY2009-2014) , I didn't know they sold them for that long...

A Nissan rogue (which is not the least bit interesting) but the pirelli logo on the side of the tires didn't follow the curve of sidewall and was instead printed in a straight line. I can't say I've ever noticed a tire like that before.

a bloody Rolls Royce Cullinan on the 417 near Carling. Black and very imposing.

Also am beginning to see the summer cars come out. Yesterday saw a beautiful yellow Porsche 930 turbo.

Also saw an RS3 being driven by an octogenarian very slowly in on the highway. Kudos for car choice, but shame it will never ever be driven.
