So i got rear ended this morning on the way to work.  Nobody hurt though, so that was good.  The vehicle ahead of me was stopped waiting to turn left, so i stopped behind them and then BANG!  :o  Was hit by a Mazda 2 and it's pretty well a write off as the air bags deployed and the front end was all mashed up and buckled.  My work truck has a dented in bumper and will need to be replaced, and that seems to be all.  Glad i was driving my truck!

A rear-ender is always my biggest fear of driving.  I have two fused vertebrae in my upper back and no movement there as a result, so a good rear-ender can really end it all for me.  Luckily i live to post again!  ;D

Glad you're okay, KD.  According to Winnipeg Police Service stats, rear end collisions make up nearly 40% of all collisions, more than double the second-highest type.

Thanks for the well wishes folks!

I actually think she was texting when she hit me.  After i got out and asked if she was ok, i asked her what happened and she burst out crying, and blubbered about how sorry she was.  I never pushed her about it though.  Hopefully that will be a hard won lesson for her future.    :popo:

Good to hear you made it out unscathed....I doubt this will make a lasting impression on the offender, but heres hoping it does.

"Rear-ended, and I don't mean in the  'Honey grab the lube, and let's experiment' kinda way."

I can't remember where that was from. I did take a pretty big hit to the head after all.  ??? ;D

Probably due to all the traffic cameras.  It's not that speed kills...it's all the sudden stops.  :P

Glad you're OK KD. Wife has 2 fused verts too and she's always worried about that.

Someone in my neighborhood has just installed a big metal dragon at the front of their house. My wife is quite perturbed by it.  :rofl2:

^ I love it!

A fellow around the corner from me has a 1.5m high, multi-coloured fibreglass pig on his front yard. I thought it was pretty funny, but some of the neighbours, rather not.

Last time I drove to the airport I went by a house with a pair of three foot tall robins on front of it.

I'm glad you made it out of the rear-ender okay KD. A larger car hitting you could have been a lot worse.

I saw my first 3 today at my GO train station. It didn't look terrible in metal... I suppose we will see these everywhere soon enough.

Saskatchewan plated Highlander through the mountains (rogers pass)in BC. He had to pass everyone, even if they were going above the limit.....only to slow WAY down for every curve. Then a passing lane would open up and away he'd go, at least 140+. Just to slow WAY down again once the twisties came. He was passing on double solids, in opposing pass lanes, and generally whenever it wasn't safe. Lost track of him from Golden on until just west of Banff where he roared past doing 140++, hopefully the law got him. That stretch is one highway you don't speed on!

I understand the frustration BC residents go through during tourist season. They simply don't know much about proper driving through the mountains, idiotic stuff like I experienced happens all the time.

I snapped a picture of the Big Pig.

I'm still amused by it.
