It's really too bad that the GXP model (which offered a manual) wasn't sold in Canada.

I think a handful were...recall reading during a deep-forum-dive that 5 or 6 manual GXPs were sold in Canada.

You're right. From Wikipedia:

Quote
Total sales of the Pontiac G8 GXP were 1,829 units.[19] Only a limited production of 6 G8 GXP were available in Canada.

Damn, I haven't seen one of those in years! Even that mid 90's Monte Carlo next to it would be a scarce find around here.

That Monte Carlo reminds me that I saw a bright red Chevrolet Lumina EuroSport coupe the other day on the 401. Looked to be in great shape too.

Saw a Mercury Sable yesterday, in this colour. Not sure if I'd insist the designed aged well, but it was definitely interesting.

^Those along with the same gen Taurus remind me of the latest Chrysler 200.  Or, the other way around I guess.

I was pretty disappointed when they went from this:

Actually reminds me a little of the current Mercedes sedan design.  ;D

Lower belt line = lower centre of gravity... plus a wide enough stance... rollover chances are slimmer than driving a CUV  ;D

Saw this G8 this morning.  These are a rare sight around these parts and especially in the winter.  This design will age well imo and this particular one looked really good in this blueish-grey colour.   8)

Rare indeed - great find.

Coincidentally, speaking of blue-ish limited-run V8 sedans, i spotted this an hour ago. These babies are definitely aging gracefully, 10/10 would snow-drift  8)

Oh yeah...

Too bad FGC (and timing chain) but damn...still love that car.

RS4 doesn't share the same timing chain issues as the S4.

yes the RS4 engine is solid other than the carbon buildup IIRC

still on my dream car list, in either black or that blue. The Audi 4.2 is one of the best sounding V8s of all time.
