Topic: Help me understand - New vs Semi used mazda3 ?

I won't buy a car now without a power roof. Ideally I'd like something like the new A3's power glass panaramic roof - so long as it opens.

It's more light and airy with the roof.

It's nearly always open when the temp is about 10dC. Always. Love the thing.

It feels so refreshing to be driving on a summer's night with it open, and the draft/breeze running thru your hair and down the back of your neck.

Often times when closer to 0dC - I won't open it below that becuase I don't want the seal to weather or strip if frozen - I'll actually turn on the heat but leave the roof open I love it so much.

In the sun, you can actually get a tan while driving!

When on the highway, tilting the roof is much quieter than cracking a side window. You can carry a conversation or listen to music more. As a bonus, it draws more air out of the vents too.

So yeah, roof is important to me.

I opened my sunroof once, in the old Audi, on the highway. Ended up with a lit cigarette butt from an 18-wheeler landing on the leather inside my car. Never opened it again.
Hmm... non-ashtray-using-smoker's-karma if ya ask me.  

I used to open the one in the Bimmer all the time.  Now, with the tinted windows in the Audi, I like it dark inside -- I like being hidden, anonymous in my car I guess -- and open the sunroof less since it lets in so much light.  I do use the tilt-vent function to help draw air through though.

Buncha babies..sunroofs are cool,de-LIGHTFUL,moon & star Brite...just keep them right side up.....maybe a noggin full of naughayde mixed wif steel would preferable???..of course we would NEVER catch any of YOU in a convertible...bird poop,Ozone,Sun Spots,Radiation,ciggies,cigars,phlegm,farts ALL the human detritus in YER FACE....can anyone say SPA-DAY fer the AGAROPHOBICS...!!!!

Not sure if I could live without either a rag-top or a motorcycle handy for summer use.

What about that 3?  Make a deal?  Anyone remember the thread?

I like sunroofs/moonroofs.  Had them on my last 4 cars.  Opens up the interior by letting in light, let's in the nice fresh air (great when driving in the mountains and at night).  

Downsides, open it up and the sun beating on you is painful as your head does get warm quick, dust in the interior (but no more than what a window lets in).
