I am thinking of trading my 2002 BMW for a 2005 Acura TL. Does the Acura dealer get some kind of GST tax credit refund from the government for the trade in value of my BMW? If this is correct, then it will just give me a little more information as to what the real net cost is to the Acura dealer of them buying my 2002 BMW.

I thought I read this a few years ago and the reason this was done was to make the dealer more competitive with private sellers of cars that did not have to charge GST on their sales.
