At the risk of re-hijacking the thread:

Ovr - Drake is one beautiful dog.  I can see how those massive paws ruined your RAV4!

Sir_Civic:  You're right about the resemblance!  Even the lower teeth are pretty much identical, as is the grizzled chin.  Nice action shot.

MD - I love fuzzy dogs.  Small is great, too, as long as they aren't yappy.  He seems to be saying, "What are YOU lookin' at?" in that photo.

Back to the topic:

You can eat, drink and have a cigarette in my car.  I'm not a Nazi about that.  Just don't eat my cigarettes.

Every day Barrie, not just some days.  They are always there to greet me, never reject me (although some days they should) and put up with all the crap that goes on around them and still find time to make you feel special, important and loved.

My ex wife could have learned from that....

Ah, seeing as everyone's doing it... My girlfriend's family's new dog, Lucky.  Some sort of terrier-cross thing.

My Lab has this habbit of not letting me in the House until I give her a Kiss on top of the Head and say Thankyou to her several times. She just Barks and blocks my way until the ritual is completed to her satisfaction. She knows the value of a Kiss. Smart Dog her.

Well! Finally a thread I can relate to! I will not be out done here in doggy world.
My 4-1/2yr old chocolate female lab 'Flicka' looks identical to your's Brig. Only mine's 68lbs. She comes from a purebred background of a show dog family which actually originated in Seattle, Wash.

I couldn't believe my good luck the day I saw the ad in the local paper.

I picked her out of three chocolates and three blacks the mother had had. She was the liveliest of them all, boy!  is she ever.

She gets a little extra running around in our big back yard but when the 2yr old Pomeranian starts after her she's hard pressed to stay ahead of it.

I love the foxy little bugger but when he yaps? I feel like throttling him.

Beautiful dogs everyone. When we feel low we can always remember that one will be lovin' you no matter what.

Oh yeh. And the ashtray? Nothing but clean air in mine and that's the way it's gonna stay.

Bridge, don't get me wrong, I love labs (had a yellow lab before the Wheaten)... actually I love dogs in general.

Interesting twist here how it seems all the real car-nut regulars here are genuine dog lovers too.

No food, drink, muddy shoes, smoking or brushing one's hair in my car (that one's specifically for the blonde bombshell fiancee as she sheds more than the dog, ha ha)... but Shamus is welcome... on occasion... once the back seat has been covered in enough towels and blankets to resemble a padded cell.  And of course he needs to be safely buckled in with his doggy seatbelt.

Standard Poodle and Standard Schnauzer are also on mine and the missus possibilities list for the next few years.

Like MDX's fur-ball, Shamus is CKC registered -- papa was a N.American champ, mama was a Cdn Champ I'm told.  Shamus is too big to be a show dog (and his teeth are too crooked -- braces?).  He'll be 13 this coming spring.  When my brother and I come to visit my parents, he forgets how old he his.  Oh, and when other male dogs are around he forgets too.  Vicious beast.  Of course, around female dogs he cowers, ha ha.

And you guys wonder why I drive the RAV4 (and the Impreza TS before that). 115 pounds of dog on seats is not a good idea IMO. Drake does NOT get to go in wife's Solara nor in the Bullitt. It's dirty paws, hair and slobber in the back of the RAV which gets cleaned about every 2 weeks or it gets out of hand real quickly.

I'm going to leave any comments on the "blonde bombshell" to others who are more quippy than I.

All bow down before true canine nobility!

Our family has had a few purebred shepherds over the years, but that ended when we moved into the city, gave them to family. Not my dog btw, very close to the last one we had. The other was pure black from head to tail. Very imposing, but a real sweetie.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

"I'm a considerate butt-flicker." Sorry Brigitte, but there is no such thing. Use the ashtray, dagnabit.

No smoking (or take-out food) in my car. The lighter socket only gets used when I pump up the tires.

City_pig...to be totally honest...I've never smoked ANYTHING in my car.  Just looking for a laugh.

Did someone say Standard Poodle?

Parent's 2nd standard..Marley (after Bob Marley) is 6 years old.  Poodles have an amazing temperment and almost to smart (2nd smartest breed next to border collies).  No shedding and super friendly and loving...just don't give them that foofy haircut.
