Topic: How noisy is a radon mitigation fan?

In Canada Radon Mitigation systems have fan inside the house. If I install one it will go in my furnace room which happens to be side the room we watch TV in. So noise is a concern.

I was just wondering if someone here who has had one installed can advise me how noisy the fan is inside the house. I have been told it will be quieter than the blower fan in my furnace. 

The outlet will go through my foundation wall. It will be on the wall between me and my next door neighbor. I would also be interested to know how noisy it is at the exit vent as I also want to be a good neighbor.

Yes at times it really peaks.

Standard basement. Fully finished and a place we spend a lot of time in. Have had peaks of 350.

I'm sure you could baffle the exhaust end if it was noisy. Otherwise I would look at a blue bottle or glass pack.

can you insulated the pipe for sound and also box it in with more insulation? that would do the trick IMO

I was hoping that someone actually had a system installed in their home and could speak from their experience.

I haven't seen one running but I can't see it being louder than a furnace starting.
