So... did the deal get done?
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

All done, picking it up on Monday.  At the end of the day, it was a nice middle ground....better equipped and (IMHO) nicer to drive than the CR-V/RAV4 crowd, feels like a premium car, but less expensive and hopefully more reliable than the Germans.  Pretty much the Acura modus operandi and the reason why my dad is on his 4th or 5th MDX over the years.

Done deal, feels strange not to have the Subaru around anymore after 10 years, but this is light years ahead in terms of the interior space and the driving experience.  Truthfully, it's also a much nicer car than the Pilot.  This will likely be our default family vehicle most of the time.

Just read thru this thread.  Congrats.  Best choice.  Great and fast re-sale if you need to exit.

Dump the Honda oil @ 3K km and install high end 0W20.  Something like Mobil One Extended Performance, not the cheaper one although they all say "full synthetic".  ::)

What brand will a NB Acura dealer sell you by the 1 liter bottle for actual synthetic I wonder?

Since you own this vehicle and intend to keep it you must install this:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5uU1zu9cWE

Idle stop/start will eventually wreck your motor in the long term.  You can set up the additional kill option in "individual" mode in the mean time.  It's far superior than using the little push button.

In the case of the gas GH that I have the stop is only triggered if brake pedal pressure crosses a certain threshold. When you come to a halt at a traffic light, if you stomp on the pedal the engine shuts off but if you just hold it lightly, enough to hold the vehicle in place but not too heavy, then the engine stays on. In fact, under light pressure, a prompt appears in the instrument cluster advising the driver to increase brake pressure to activate the shutdown :rofl2: I get that "just correct" brake pressure 9 times out of 10 which is good enough for me.

Yeah, we ended up doing a 48 month lease given the favourable interest rates....1.99% with my rate reduction for being an existing Honda Finance customer.  My mindset is to drive it 10 years though, likely buy out the lease at some point along the way (buying out a loan at 1.99% is not the optimal use of my free cash right now).

Good to know on oll change and the stop-start....I'm in the habit of just pushing that button every time I start the car, since I do it in the Pilot too.

This thing drives like a dream in Sport mode.  Just firm and rambunctious enough to make you smile on a commute.  I've already adapted to the touchpad infotainment...it's not quite the problem I anticipated, I can certainly live with it.  The ELS stereo is phenomenal, I've never had a nice stereo in a car before and now I feel a little spoiled.  Overall it makes the Pilot feel cheap (and I thought the Pilot felt a few notches nicer than the CR-V).
