In the process of booking a week of cycling in Italy starting in late June. Based out of Riccione and we will get also see two stages of the Tour de France. Have about 6 friends also going on this trip so it will be a lot of fun.

That'll be a blast!

Yeah, I'd love to go to an F1 race in Belgium, Italy, Austria, etc.

Wanting to do an Easter break (or sometime around late March, early April) vacation with our boys (15,17) for 5 days 'ish.  Thinking of doing a US City, maybe hit up an NHL/NBA game if it works out, and site seeing/attractions/light hiking.  Any suggestions?  Our US travel experience is limited.  Would be flying out of Saskatoon.  Off the top of my head are the following:

Phoenix - Decent weather that time of year, NBA/NHL teams, AirBnB with a pool
Minneapolis - NBA/NHL teams, cheap direct flights from YXE, decent attractions, potential for crappy weather

Other areas I haven't really dug into yet:
Texas
Cali - San Diego, San Fran
Boston
Seattle
Maine

No real interest in Florida for me.  The other option is to take the easy way out and just hit an all inclusive in the Caribbean, but we've had the kids there a few times. Other suggestions?

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

^ Options are endless; Las Vegas, Orlando, Minneapolis, Phoenix.

Looks like we're going to Minny or Phoenix, haha.

I'm sure they would, and I likely would also, just no desire on my end at this time.  But I should add it to the list for sure.

Strike Orlando off the list.  Can't find a direct flight even though Westjet says they fly direct from YXE.  Anything less than 2 stops is $1000/ticket.  When getting to that range we might as well go to Europe.

Flying out of SK sucks.  Let me rephrase that; SK sucks.

I was going to say planning for spring break is a little late. Lots of airfares are nasty during that time. Book flights for spring 2025..  ;D

I'm willing to shift a week or two also to find better/less expensive flights.  I'm not worried about kids missing school.  It was more about getting outside of their sports schedules (hockey, bball).

Maybe I should just spend my money in Canada.  Winnipeg, here we come.  Seriously though, the kids and I have never done Toronto.  None of us have been to the east coast.  But then weather plays a factor, and I'd rather visit in warmer temps.  Been to Vancouver a bunch of times.

Outta YXE, best bet might be Carribean charter. That was one of my airports back in the day, not many options outta there. I used to fly into YQR & drive up to YXE & over to Prince Albert as well.

Prince Albert eh...my home town  :shuffle:

Last time I went to Van we drove to Edmonton...

Regina options aren't any better.  I would think Saskatoon has more options these days, but I could be wrong.

You are OK pulling them out of school? Can't miss the sports but school OK?  I wish you were my dad.. ;D

Ya, no problem with school. They both have averages in the 90's and can catch up on a missed week in a day.  You miss sports you affect the team you committed to.  A practice here or there, or a league game, that's OK, but March is playoffs, and the kids wouldn't want to miss them either.

Have you asked what the boys would enjoy?  Site seeing, pro sports games, beach, camping, amusement parks, museums, etc?  I would get each to rank those and from that list base the trip off the location that checks off the most popular things they want to do.  It’s all about creating memories and at that age it’s harder to do as a lot of teens just want to do their own thing.
