Hire's Not-Perfect F355 Spider
« on: April 02, 2023, 05:12:15 pm »
This gated manual, triple blue (Tour de France Blue) F355 Spider found us on Friday. Has had a FRESH engine out, drives absolutely perfect, brand new PS4S tires and HRE wheels, a Tubi exhaust and headers, but sort of visually clapped. HOLY MOLY it sounds good... easily the best sounding car I've ever had the pleasure of driving.

Convertible top doesn't work, the interior is disgusting (worst Ferrari sticky buttons I've ever seen), has a Carfax story to it, and some questionable bodywork repairs. Needs a front grille, a hood Ferrari emblem, and a LOT of cleaning.

That said, these things are $140k MINIMUM for gated Spiders and double that for coupes/Berlinettas... we got this for less than half of that. It's my parts manager (who happens to be a very close friend of mine)'s absolute DREAM car. We went halves on it just to play.

More pics to come... my buddy and I are going to work on it after hours, try and do everything ourselves and keep things low-priced.

Great find! Looking forward to before and after pictures of the interior.

What's under the ... hood    no,  trunk   engine cover?

The 355 with a Tubi is one of the best sounding cars of all time.

Lovely colour combo. I'm partial to the GTS but I'd certainly drive a Spider.

These have really shot up in value recently but lots of unsold ones seem to be sitting about. Silver Arrow has had a really nice GTS for a few months, they recently cut the asking price from $300k USD to $260k.

This thing is cool, I'd have a spyder over the coupes /GTS, plus, I like that it's a little ratty - you can use it and not worry about it.

So of course your going to get this car "right", clean the crap out of it.  Is this something that you and your friend will keep for a short while and then flip for a profit, or is this a "keeper"?
