Is the Outback not a station wagon?? Also, why not get a regular Escape, save the cash and not have a ridiculous vehicle in offroad drag?!?!?!

Nor is it an SUV.

It's some weird mishmash of both.

I consider it an SUV.  Because that's what it is.  It's just styled to look like a wagon.

I always thought it was a wagon styled to look like a CUV

Its a modern AMC Eagle....why is station wagon such a dirty word?? I've never looked at a Legacy station wagon with a lift kit and thought SUV.

Except it's body is taller than a conventional wagon with a lift kit. And it looks nowhere as good as a Legacy wagon would.

I spent five hours in the back seat of my buddy's 2022 Outback Wilderness on Sunday.  Nice car/SUV.  Rear heated seats were welcome after spending 3-4hrs out in the cold.  Plenty of space for three adults, all our gear, and a dog in the back. 

One thing I noticed is the rear doors are a little on the small side.  Makes getting out when you're wearing big winter boots a little difficult.  You kinda sink INTO the seats, rather than sit on top of them (like in my CX-5) which doesn't help the egress situation.

I suppose they threw the Outback into this category because there really isn't anywhere else for it to go. As to it's being best in class..............
