On a side note, are they going to be doing the Wilderness version to the Crosstrek as well?

Not yet at least. Outdoor is replaced by Onyx. No factory lift kits, but the aftermarket ...

Dealer contacted me that they have a VIN # for a 2024 Crosstrek Onyx (no Sport, this essentially replaces it). Other than the noted restyling it has the better headlights.

basic $33 995
Admin $395
Air $100
Freight $2195
Block heater included

$36 685 before taxes

About a $2k increase over the 2023.

Didn't get into a discussion regarding interest rates etc. I asked for my deposit and thanked him for his time. They have definitely crept up. At one time high 20s would buy a well optioned one.

despite previous reports this 2.5L has a J VIN so made in Japan.

That is what they were saying here too:

All Canadian Crosstreks will come from Japan, whereas the US has the 2.5 models built locally

Yeah I had only read the US article as I lost interest. No waiting lists for these. I'll try to dig out real finance rates.

Yes, the Onyx gets a moonroof and the 11.6 screen. Also gets a power driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control and LED headlights, none of which were on the 2023 Outdoor that it replaces.

Seems like a decent deal if that stuff interests you. Fair bit more content for the extra couple grand $2,700.

For our Outdoor a power drivers seat would be nice, mostly for seat memory. Sounds like the LED headlights is a worthwhile upgrade too

For those who were looking at a 2023 CVT sport it's a very good deal, just an extra $600 for the 2.5 plus whatever else they carry over from the Outdoor (maybe the all weather mats, front camera, dual X-mode, etc)

Yeah, seat memory would be awesome. Unfortunately, that's not how Subaru does things. There is no memory function on the 2023s with power seats, and I believe the 2024s are the same.

I really don't understand why they would have power seats without a memory function. All the expensive stuff is already there (motors, wiring.) How much extra could it cost them to add that?  ???

Well, that would indeed be dumb. Looks like European Crosstreks had it:

Ok this is a fair $ for the equipment
do you know if the Onyx will have the gold accent on the bumper and side stills?

^^ Yeah, I think it’s just the Onyx that gets the gold/yellow accents.

Way to much rotational mass and tire circumference for that poor little 2.5L and CVT. Looks good parked in Starbucks coffee shop parking lot though.

There is a sweet spot and after that it becomes ridiculous.   However, it's a business and if certain "persons" are willing to pay a good premium "look at me I'm a serious off roader, really" then have at it.  Although it would be embarrassing to be seen driving that particular model.

That seems plausible, but Crosstrek (in North America) has never had memory on the power seats - all the way back to 2013.

Who knows.

What's known.

All 2023 high end F150s have deleted massage seats due to chip shortage.  All Ford F150s will not be delivered with heated steering wheels  :o  All F150s come with stop/start/ delete because of chip shortage.  Which of course is fantastic for people that still possess a functioning brain.

Automotive chip shortage will become extreme end of 2023 due to non existence of neon.

No seat memory indeed on my Limited.
