In an area of the country where there is no shortage of land. Mini stalls, the outrage!

Ignorant people. ::)

In his defense, he is a nice fellow and this parking lot was laid out long before vehicles got so large.

Couldn't he take more care when opening his doors though ?

You want to see something funny, watch someone park in a spot like that in an F150 with the clamshell doors and then try and get stuff out of the back seat

My ideal X3 SUV replacement just showed up on Autotrader - MY, trim, color combo, mileage (better than expected)....

However the seller didn't get the memo that the market has turned. Asking price $10K more than what I would pay for it give or take.

The seller doesn't look like a car guy though judging by the engine bay state. He could've spent few bucks on a detailing job before posting.

Also by the license place sequence, he had the car for less than 2 years.

Or it means he's only had the plate for a couple years. :)

Sure, possible but my money is on short ownership. Nothing really wrong with it just an observation.

Short ownership is not a plus. Obviously seller has done zippo in terms of maintenance since there is no effort to list anything in the ad.  Strong probability that it was an ex lease of which get minimal care which is the point of a lease.  The low mileage is a honey trap at that price.

Also possible he's not a car guy (my guess) and he took the car to the BMW dealership, handed over the keys, paid the bills and never lifted the hood.....
Possible he simply doesn't know what to write in a car ad as he may simply not know anything about cars.....

Lots of possibilities. Without facts, we can only speculate.....

Most people don't detail their engine bays. An overly detailed engine bay sends my antennae up.

True.  But that's what we do here; speculate.  :D

My speculation is that it's an off lease Bimmer which means extended oil changes.  This owner acquires it, does zero maintenance, owes a lot on it and wants out.  Tires are probably original.  My typical optimistic opinion.  :)

Detailing the engine bay is also not for the novice.  You don't just get a bucket of water and your pressure washer and go ham on it.  There are some rather sensitive things in there that you need to be careful about not completely soaking with water and soap.

That's what I've always done, just used the pressure washer carefully. Avoided concentrated direct spray on the electronics, brake reservoir etc and started it up right after so the heat can dry. Never a problem

Maybe a FGC is more sensitive, but all engines are made to get wet to some extent

That being said, the guy didn't even take his stuff out of the car. Always puzzles me why people don't spend a couple hours and give a vehicle even a light cleaning before taking photos, it at least gives the impression they cared about the vehicle

I don't keep my engine bay clean - it's covered with dust.  But it's also not an indication of the level at which I maintain my vehicle...

Learned the hard way with a F150. Washed the engine, went on a trip a few days later. Started misfiring like crazy, the water seeped past the spark plug boots. What a mess. Wrecked one coil, got it running smoothly again and found the truck was way down on power. Turns out the unspent fuel from the misfire plugged the catalytic converter. Haven’t washed an engine since to be honest.

How much can I get for me 2006 Lexus rx400h?   Some prices are outrageous out there but again mine is not the best looking.
-timing belt needs to be done
-my rear left suspension (strut mount I think) it doing the clocking sound so probably needs to be replaced.
-the brakes are  just over year old ish. the tires too
-small rust spot on rear fenders....
303K

I does run smooth though
