Looks like there will be some wiggle room for new CR-Vs now given the inventory.

The 2023 starting MSRP with freight included:

Forester base: $33,347
CX-5 GX AWD: $33,378.50
Rav4 LE AWD: $35,874.50
CR-V LX-B AWD: $40,058.50

Yeah...Honda is way up there.

I don't need to think very hard about that one....I'd buy a Forester and call it a day.

No no no..... CX-5.  ;D

 :rofl2:

It's interesting as no one here seems to be buying cheap CX-5's. Mazda seems to be getting the prices voluntarily that Honda is trying to force people to pay

God bless competition

The problem is that the $40k CR-V is a base model, while the $40k CX-5 is actually really nice.

Yup Honda pricing out of whack. $5k on the hood coming to a neighbourhood near you.

This will delight me to no end, as I saw my local dealer slap $5k "market adjustment factors" on CR-V's during the heights of COVID. (I know the dealer is not taking any of the hit on price reductions / cash on the hood, but still)

There's a fair number of GX models around here - they are the ones flying off the lots. Higher end versions stay in inventory longer.

The Outback is another one where the base model is the most popular - they're easy to spot thanks to their plastic wheel covers. And a terrific value.

Agreed.  I really like the cloth seating surfaces in the base models, and the hard dash/door surfaces are kinda crappy whether you buy a base or a Limited anyway.  Just use the stock wheels with the plastic covers in the winter and buy decent alloys for the summer.

It is kind of surprising. Back when we were shopping for the Crosstrek, a base Outback, base Forester, and mid grade Crosstrek were all similar in price and features. I preferred the size and carlike design of the Crossie, but it really boiled down to whatever we could find in stock

Both the Outback and Forester climb in pricing very quickly, but the base models are stellar value

Wow, been a couple of years since we have seen deals like that.  Mind you they likely are clearing out 23's to make room for the incoming 24's.

Is that only on the four cylinder ones? I thought I saw that caveat on an ad.

Did not check, but possible. The big turbo 4 is all these 1500-series trucks need, really, but some buyers may balk at the concept.

The ad I saw was for 0.99% financing + $3500 off but it only applied to the 2.7Ts, I think.
