Though it goes unchanged this year, the Camry remains a genuinely good gas-electric sedan.

For 2023, Toyota Canada corrected a major goof: prior, if one ordered the Nightshade pkg, the heated steering wheel would be deleted. The explanation I received from a Toyota exec is that the pkg was spec'd for the US market and it was a last-minute thing to offer it in Canada. I pointed that out in my review last January and perhaps influenced the result. Saving the world, 10 cold fingers at a time - that's what we do  :)

It seems trivial but until you have had a heated steering wheel you don’t know what you are missing.

It was standard on the SE but deleted when optioned with the Nightshade pkg, which made no sense!

Toyota connected services will make no sense to many buyers, but the value trim is the standard SE Hybird.

Of course the interesting Toyota hybrid sedan is the Crown.

The 340 hp Crown Platinum is high on the wife's MDX replacement list and it's cheaper to boot.

The value dilemma : SE AWD or SE Hybrid?

That is a tuff one.  ???

On a 4 year lease I'd take the SE Hybrid mainly because I hate bendix type stop start systems and there would be a noticeable difference in gas costs.

If it was a purchase say financed over 5 years with intention to keep it I'd opt for the SE AWD with option package and then hope there would be an aftermarket fix for the stop start.

Should add that for urban only drivers the hybrid is probably the only way to go.

As you know, I had the AWD on a roadtrip and it proved quite frugal, in the 7's, so AWD for non-city folks and Hybrid for us city slickers. Or just get both in a new Prius...

There's a plug in hybrid coming too.

It's entirely a function of always wearing thin tactical gloves.

Also...you really think it doesn't get cold enough to freeze your hands here or something??

Edmonton would laugh at your gloves

And tactical or tactile?

That might be true re Edmonton.

But I can assure you that it gets cold enough anywhere in Ontario to freeze your hands/steering wheel in winter.

Tactile and tactical the gloves are. Can pick up a dime off the floor with them

There’s a big difference between being cold enough for freezing hands and prairie cold. :D

Just today I told myself I would take a heated steering wheel over heated seats. My truck has neither, but the MDX has both. At least the seats warm up from your body heat. Steering wheel not so much. I guess you can wear heavy gloves, but I don’t like driving with gloves.  Of course others will feel differently.

I was meh about a heated wheel until i started using one for the first time in the Lexus.  Now, I miss not having one in the Frontier.  I still use heated seats but having a heated wheel is preferred to me now.  Besides, I think I developed Raynaud's Syndrome within the last few years.  Luckily it only affect my hands but they get cold in almost no time now, and hurt like hell thawing out.  Heated gloves are probably next.  ;D

I think probably the option I miss the most is self closing doors.

Now THAT one I never truly understood until I had it....then didn't.   :'(

I think I also really like keyless entry (leaving the fob in your pocket and never having to remove it).

You might be surprised but there is a button to turn it off.
