Motormouth's first look inside and out.

I think it looks rather good and substantial.

I think it is a game changer, in the same way the ford sierra was in the 1980's.  60 to gallon, Lots of power, looks great and modern.

Well that would suck, but not at all surprising.

Fairly meaningless without knowing what trim you're guessing about.

I think they mentioned only the AWD trims for Canada for 2023.

But if you think $43k for the full load AWD model, that's a jump of about $8K.

I think realistically we should expect somewhere in the range of 10-20% increase.  Regardless it’ll still be a decent price for a Prius that looks good and now has some balls.

The top spec AWD Model is $32,337. I can't see Toyota putting up that much.

Pricing will be announced late in 2022. With the base L Eco model trimmed from the 2023 lineup, Toyota offers the Prius in LE, XLE, and Limited trims. Expect the redesigned Prius to cost just under $30,000, including destination.

In the Motormouth video they said the embargo lifts Dec 14th. Hopefully pricing will also be shared on the same day.

Hard to compare without all the specs, but the two models pricing that I have seen is the XLE AWD for $36.5k and the full jam limited at $43k.  So the Prime will likely be closer to $50k for the top trim.  Not cheap, but as stated above, a good looking Prius and power, that alone is worth a hefty price increase in my book.  Also, as I stated above, the price increases look like they fall in that 10-20% range I expected.

Edit: when you compare to the US pricing it again is MUCH cheaper it Canada, the Limited is over $50k CAD in the US.

Now for Toyota Canada to put pricing on the website.

Already mentioned that the price starts at $36,490 for XLE and $42,990 for the Limited.  Looks like Canada will get two trim levels, but could be an optional package with both.

It could be ,but does it include freight and pdi ? Without those numbers it could be more expensive than that. The Toyota Canada site will show those figures. As of yet nothing. I'd rather have the pricing from the horses mouth.

Wow..

That's quite a jump in price.

Which possibly puts the Prime at $50k!!  That's about a 25 percent price jump.

Which is too much for me. I was thinking it might jump to $42k or so (about a $5k jump). But a $10k jump?

I'll keep my reservation until the Prime pricing comes up...but as of now it's a "Nope".

Is my first post invisible to you guys, I posted the prices early and stated that the Prime will likely be around $50k.

Maybe they will have two trim levels for the Prime, in which case the XLE prime would be closer to $45k.  You’d be gaining style, range, power, fuel economy, and AWD.  Plus maybe it’ll qualify for a rebate federally or provincially.
