Praise the LORD, Tremor got delivered
« on: October 27, 2022, 10:51:25 pm »
2022 Tremor arrived today.  Dealer sent me a few crappy pics.  Very thankful it got built sans XM radio  :P, upgraded sound system  >:( and the stop/start  ;D

I was discounted $250 for the XM and $50 for the stop/start which is really funny.  The XM delete is irritating.  The deletion of the upgraded sound system BITES.  However, if Ford had of deleted my front Torsen I would have contemplated killing the deal.  Front Torsen is just awesome.

So as it stands the Dealer is purchasing the Rough Country leveling kit & installing

https://www.roughcountry.com/ford-suspension-lift-kit-51028.html

Dealer is giving me credit for the stock 33 General Grabbers and installing 35 BFG K02, a must have

and reprogramming the ECM for the speedo and related measurements.  All under Ford powertrain warranty which is very satisfying.

What isn't satisfying is final delivery not till mid week after next.

My son's stair fabricator has the same tires on a 2022 diesel F250 Lariat.  Went to town for a Tims run with him. Silent.  That's where I got the bug for the 35 K02s.

These trucks are quiet.  My son's 2020 xlt screw is amazingly quiet.  You don't hear the motor full throttle.  It's actually dangerous on the highway because you look down and you're going 120 in an 80.

This Tremor has 400 HP and 500 torque @ 3000 rpm, 373 gears.  Sorry, you can't bring me down from this high.  ;D

So they just make noise for people on the outside??

All the Chads with lifted trucks seem to run these...and they definitely get loud.

Nice truck, jerk. ;)

I’ve found that A/T tires in general are pretty quiet. It’s not until you get into the mud terrains that the noise becomes a nuisance.

Why are the 35s a must have? For looks/stance, or off-road capability?
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Of course I hear them.  They are everywhere up here.  However, I don't get out and see what brand they are or ask if they have been aligned. Most nit wits don't align these wheels.  It's their deal.

That's pretty sweet, and then being paid not to have stop/start

I'm thinking of calling the dealer and flipping them $500 to put a PERMANENT, non-defeating Start-Stop on the truck just to drive Steve crazy.

That's money well spent, IMO.    :rofl2:

Why are the 35s a must have? For looks/stance, or off-road capability?

This Tremor is getting lifted at the front 2.5 inches.  The rear will come down about 1/2 inch.  Unfortunately, because it was backed in you could not see the dramatic rake that the Tremors come with.  You've got to lift them and then you have this insane wheel gap as a result.  Essentially 3/4 ton gaps.  That's a lot of gap.

So yes, it's appearance.  The 3/4 ton as mentioned above was such a work of art.  The entire well was filled. Really nice.  I'm getting hosed for $1600 for the swap including 4 wheel alignment.

As an example, I drove the new Tundra for a few days when it first came out trying my very best to like it, but the rake and the rear tire gap was crap.  I hate these giant gaps.  You see them on the new AT4s which otherwise are nice looking units.  These trucks look like toys.  So I'm fixing the rake and filing up the gaps.  Why not.  I'm already in deep.  :D

I might phone over later and try and get them to take a pic of the side rake and stock gap when they pull it out.  We'll see.

It's one of those little life surprises that come out of nowhere.  I absolutely despise this entire pointless intrusion by government idiots that impose such a useless mandate.  It ruins the driving experience.  It ruins top ends, turbos, starters, batteries; you know the pitch.

This isn't only Ford.  Over at the GM truck forums ppl are frantically trying to get 2022s Chey and GMC 1/2 tons, because they too are getting stop/start deletes and as a super bonus no AFM that is universally despised by the GM faithful.  All thanks to the chip shortage; Covid, the Chinese, Putin, and naturally Trudeau.  Bless them.  :D

Speaking of lifts...this dropped this week

https://pressroom.toyota.com/toyota-tundra-reaches-new-heights-with-trd-3-inch-lift-kit/

That's very interesting.  But they don't mention tire size ???  Isn't that elementary?  One problem with the new GM units is wheel well shape.  Take at look.  Those GM units have square wheel well openings.

Congrats, that’s an awesome truck…
Can’t believe non-start stop button ugh!!

Ford is also deleting features of the 2023 Lightnings - nothing major so far but it would hurt to leave without heated steering wheel and seats!!

Need the upgraded sound because those tires will howl.

I have K02s on the Frontier and they are a fantastic tire, and they don't howl at all. Very smooth ride yet very capable off-road too.  Best truck tire I've ever had.  Will definitely be getting another set when mine are worn out.

Nice truck AS! Congrats!

Meanwhile, was waiting patiently for my new work truck (f150) that was supposed to arrive this month but now I'm told no new truck until sometime in 2023.  ::)

Nice truck AS.  Bit of a bummer with no XM or upgraded stereo, but neither really affects the ride or capabilities, so at least there's that.  May it give you many miles of trouble free motoring.

Nice one! I had the Duratracs on my Wrangler, not too loud at all & the BF's are supposedly quieter.
