On the one hand, a way to get a previously unavailable European market vehicle, on the other, is Renault up to North American reliability expectations?
Wonder if Mitsubishi is going to survive. The Outlander being basically a Nissan, and now the RVR being actually a Renault....are we talking last days of AMC here?
Ah, yes, the good old days of the Alliance. Renault seats and components in Cherokees, Americanized R9's with chrome luggage racks.
They are back in the green but, yeah, image-wise, if you only sell rebranded products... Mitsubishi was an EV pionneer and today they have zero plug-ins on offer. The soon-to-be-released Outlander PHEV will correct that, and I'm eager to find out where the drivetrain engineering came from. Nissans are very much Renaults at this point, and many Nissan Canada staffers are straight from France. The Jatco CVT's are from Japan, and are the brand's weakest point, go figure.
